I went to the doc the other day and learned about all these definicinencies I supposedly had. Vitamin D and folic acid. Now I've got a handful of pills to take every morning. Even put 'em in one of those plastic pill organizer things to make sure I don't forget them. Might as well start making my funeral arrangements.

Yeah, my doctor told me I had folic acid and vitamin D deficiencies recently. Apparently they can impact energy levels and mood. I live in northern England, so we don't get much sunlight for most of the year. I'm on the vitamin B12 and D supplements daily now.

It's getting to the point for me, where seeing 90's and early 2000's stuff like Valor vs Venom hits me with the same nostalgia as the 80's stuff! Funny thing is, for me, Star Wars in the 90's hits harder than the vintage line, even though I was in my 20's at the time.

My doc told me I'm in the top 2% for my age group. I take no prescription medications, my cholesterol is fine, my vit levels are fine, my bp is fine, liver is fine, kidneys are fine, I ain't got cancer, memory is damn near eidetic. I'm 6'2" 196 lbs. Ain't even had a cold in 6 years.

I can't figure out why. God only knows it ain't cause of "clean living". Hell, I had to stop drinkin 5 years ago. Turns out waking up at 5:30am to drink vodka meant, "I had a problem". Who knew? Only possible reason is I have had an unnatural love for whole grains and granola since I was a kid.

I know what you mean. Maybe it's because we were older and have clearer memories of the later stuff. Childhood nostalgia still probably runs deepest, but so much of that is remembered through a fog. Whereas stuff from twenties, even teens really, can remember in much clearer detail.

Idk where the Vitamin D defficiency came from, but I strongly suspect the folic acid deal is probably at least partially the result of my fondness for alcohol. Which I will remind fond of. Runs in the family. My ancestors stood up to the federal government over their right to praise God while making moonshine (for real!). My uncle was told to stop drinking or die, and he purchased a casket and made all of his funeral arrangements the next day. Even had bulletins printed and ready to go. So, yeah.

I did change my diet significantly a few years back. Dropped soda. Minimized bread and maximized vegetables. Love 'em when they're roasted in the oven, so it works. Also managed to quit smoking, too. Well. Cigarettes. Super proud of that one.

my vitamin d deficency came from because i live under a bridge and only come out at night or to post on the internet.

or because i dont slack off enough working remote by taking a lap around the outside of my house during the day. im trying to spend some time outside after work and keeping an eye on my potato plants that seem to be dying off earlier than they should be.

i definitely dont have any vices like that anymore. i'll have a drink or a cigar pretty much every couple of months. no reason other than i totally forget that's even something i can do.

i cant live without bread or soda. i've dropped soda, but it did nothing for me overall so i went back to drinking it. one can a day isnt going to kill me.

congrats on kicking cigarettes!
