The Dreadnoks are my absolute favourite faction within GI Joe. Partly because they were from/based in Australia. Partly because they are bikers and I guess partly because they look like they would fit in the world of Mad Max.
Road Pig and Gnawgahyde are my absolute favourites out of the Dreadnoks. Road Pig was my first Dreadnok and I had just got in to reading the comics around a few months earlier from his debut. He got his own feature comic and it just made him even cooler. Gnawgahyde was an easy purchase because he came with an animal companion, he was a Dreadnok and he was absolutely jacked. He looked like he could take on the joes all by himself. Who are your favourite Dreadnoks? |

Now we're talking! I love all the Dreadnoks and think they all would make for some really awesome Classified figures. They were always so cool and unique to me as a kid growing up playing with them. I remember when I got my first '85 figures as easter gifts in early April '85 (Shipwreck & Barbecue) and when I saw all the new characters on the cardback, I think the first ones that grabbed my attention were all 3 Dreadnoks (followed by the Crimson Guard, Barbecue and Shipwreck). It was just cool to see three random dudes dressed in biker / '80s punk / Mad Max/Road Warrior gear (all mixed together), wearing cool shades with facial hair, sporting trendy hairstyles (for 1983-1985 remember) and piercings and using gnarly melee weapons like a welding torch, a jaws of friggin' life steel cutter and a giant Leatherfacesque chainsaw?!
I'd like to rank them from my least (which I still love) to most fav: Thrasher Zanzibar Buzzer Zarana Ripper Zandar Gnawgahyde Zartan Torch Monkeywrench Road Pig (I could see a Classified RP being the next Serpentor i.e., a figure that nearly every Joe collector wants - including people who never even liked the character before going back to the ARAH days. I think Road Pig's going to be way too impressive of a figure for any Joe fan to not want to add to their Classified collection)

Great list.
If I was to do my own, least favourite to most favourite, it would be; Zanzibar Zandar Monkeywrench Zanya Burn Out Heartwrencher Thrasher Zarana Torch Ripper Buzzer Zartan Gnawgahyde Road Pig And special mention to the Thunder Machine. What an absolutely amazing vehicle and works so well for the Dreadnoks, and in GI Joe. When it comes to Dreadnoks in Classified I really hope they are based more on the ARAH figures and not the Modern Era figures. Road Pig wasn’t big enough and Gnawgahyde looked emaciated. I agree, hoping they go more with their old artwork depictions and figures. Road Pig should be massively giant (Slaughter to Serpentor size) and fat buff and uglier than a baboon's giant callus butt and Gnawgahyde needs to be well put-together and fairly ripped.
I'd rather they use the GH/RB buck over the Zartan/Minbender buck for Gnawgahyde, but maybe that's too big, as in tall? Maybe by the time he is done they will have made another muscular buck that is in-between those two sizes - which would be good for figures like Gnawgahyde, Torch, Ripper, Monkeywrench, Zanzibar, Thrasher and maybe even a Joe like Steam Roller or Wild Card. Big and fairly ripped, but not super tall.

They have such unrealized potential. I've happened to read too many remarks about how Larry Hama used them to voice his dislike of Australians.
I had hoped that the Dreadnoks might take center stage as the main antagonists of the one-time Amazon series on Lady Jaye. Not as knuckleheads but as a ferocious Aussie-based motorcycle gang. Would've been fun to see her going undercover among the Dreadnoks, even posing as one, and letting them be the thread that leads her to discovering Cobra (and getting recruited into the Joes). Could've been a nice blend of cop movie, horror movie, road movie, sci-fi, military, action, espionage ... but maybe that was just my head cold telling me tales. |

I just thought I’d track the Dreadnoks releases in Classified.
Zartan - released Buzzer - released Ripper - preorder Torch - name only pipeline reveal Zarana - released Zandar Monkeywrench Thrasher Gnawgahyde - name only pipeline reveal Road Pig - Lenny’s favourite Zanzibar Burn Out Crusher Demolished Billy-Bob Cletus Joe-Bob Otis Roscoe Vance Storm Rider Zanya Heart-Wrencher Dreadnok Kaos While I doubt we will ever get the Dreadheads, these are all the Dreadnoks that have had a figure before. I’m looking forward to more in 2024/2025 and filling out most of the faction. |

As long as we get all original 11 'Noks, I'll be happy.
I wouldn't mind if they made the unmade one that was planned for '87 or '88, Apach? He would be interesting to see. Would be cool if they did a "Concepts" line, where they took concepts that never happened from the original line amd made them in Classified. Heck, even some character concepts for figures that were made are so different that they could be all-new characters or a newer version of the existing character .

I think they could take come of the concepts and release them as new characters along with new ones like Wolf Spider. |
