Well, the 1985 polls were filled with some pretty strong contenders for greatest G.I. Joe/Cobra figure of all time, so it's no surprise we got a lot of votes this time around. As usual, the top ten vote getters are here on this list, to see, once and for all, who was the best figure of 1985!
Since there was a tie for 10th place, I had to choose between Starduster and Shipwreck who would get the final spot. Sorry Starduster fans, but Shipwreck is far more recognizable, so he gets it! Oh, and I was right... Tripwire didn't get a single vote! And neither did Lady Jaye, which was a bit surprising. My personal choice for best figure of 1985 is the Crimson Guard, which, as I stated before, is my absolute favourite Cobra troop type and one of the best figures ever made for the line! I love my Classified versions!

It's hard to choose between Snake Eyes and Crimson Guard....Snake Eyes is awesome, but CG is PERFECT.

I hate voting against Crimson Guard, but gotta go with Snake Eyes. Uzi plus sword plus wolf = 5th grade fantasy.

Yup. I'm not even the world's biggest SE fan, and you'd think it'd be difficult to choose in a year that had the CG, Snow Serpent, and Eel in the line-up, but V2 SE is in my opinion the single greatest action figure of all time.

I can't decide who I want to vote for. It's either Snake Eyes, Shipwreck, Flint, the Eel or the Crimson Guard.

Snake Eyes v.2, with Shipwreck at a very close second. 1985 had a lot of good ones.

Nothing was cooler to the 11 year old me in 1985 than an Uzi, a sword and a pet wolf. Snake Eyes all day , every day.

I went with Frostbite, but really, Snow Serpent, Eels, Flint, Crimson Guard and Shipwreck are all super close to the top.
SE v2 isn't really a favorite of mine, personally. He's good, but not the best. The ankle bracelets are kinda weird, his sword looks odd and Timber isn't as good a mold as Order or Junkyard. |
