Plus, his swords fit in the sheaths on his backpack. That was MIND-BLOWING to me in 1984. Star Wars and He-Man figures had nothing even close to weapon storage. That was like an evolutionary leap in action figure technology.

Having said all that, Firefly is really goddamn awesome, too. Firefly would win hands down in any other year, but not against the baddest ninja of them all.

The lineup for 1984 is top-to-bottom loaded with great characters, but Otomo nails exactly how I feel about it. Storm Shadow gets my vote!

Looks like my vote doesn't mean much now, but Mutt & Junkyard were my favorites from this year. Lots of great figures in 1984!

Man, I love the entire '84 line. So many classic figures - Ripcord, Mutt & Junkyard, Roadblock, Spirit, Baroness, Firefly... but if I have to pick one then Storm Shadow it is. When I saw Cobra had a ninja all bets were off.
