How I use Stasi in my JOEverse.




Anastasia Cisarovana is the eldest child of Baron Ironblood and has inherited the title from her father. The Cisarovanas are a wealthy globally connected family from a province in Borovia, (where the barony is located.) The Cisarovanas are the Borovian equivalent to blue bloods in America.



Anastasia was recruited to the ranks of COBRA Command by COBRA Commander himself in the early days of COBRA. Smitten by the Commander's charm, charisma, intelligence, boyish good looks, goals, determination, and of course the Commander's own wealth and connections Anastasia naturally developed an attraction to the Commander, (despite by his own admission,) to Anastasia being, "his type," the Commander rejects Anastasia's subtle hints by saying he can't be distracted with a mistress and have a potentially dangerous and volatile situation develop that could damage or destroy COBRA Command because they both lacked discipline. Citing the Fall from Genesis, the Commander tells Anastasia that she is both the apple, the serpent, and this is his temptation. The Commander goes on to tell Anastasia that the sin wasn't in Adam biting from the apple, but not giving Eve chastisement and correction. He concludes by saying great men have fell due to a lack of discipline (e.g. Marc Antony.) and he abjectly refuses to let the something happen to him. Not only will he and his lieutenants maintain discipline, but they must set a good example for the rank and file of COBRA Command. Though her sexual advances were rejected this causes Anastasia to develop a deep respect, admiration, and devotation to the Commander and COBRA's goals.


Though preferring to use subterfuge, deception, proxies, and the Crimson Guard to formulate and guide corporations policies and government laws and policies to bring COBRA Command's goals to fruition the Commander realizes that violence is sometimes needed and things will eventually come to a head with certain first world powers, as a result he uses M.A.R.S. as his weapons supplier.

Using the Baroness as a liasion and by passing M.A.R.S. sales representatives Anastasia works directly with Destro in procuring armaments for COBRA. As with most people that work in close proximity to one another a professional working relationship develops into friendly banther, sexual innuendo, and dates outside of "company," business. Though they try their best to keep relationship strictly platonic Destro and Anastasia eventually give into their desires for each other by lying to themselves saying that they're using the next one to further their own personal agendas. The thing is Destro and Baroness have a genuine fondness for each other and this affinity they have towards one another eventually grows into love.


Realizing that their relationship isn't going to sit well with the Commander, Destro and Baroness make every attempt possible to keep their relationship a secret. However, the Commander makes it known that he's aware of Destro's and Anastasia's relationship when he says, "Tell your girlfriend I have to push back the intelligence briefing to later in the day tomorrow." Of course Destro feigns ignorance by saying why would he tell his girlfriend about an intelligence briefing? To which the Commander replies, "Come now Destro. I'm fully aware of the state secrets of the nuclear powers. What makes you think that I wouldn't be aware that my intelligence director and my weapons supplier were involved with each other." Then he reiterates to Destro to inform Stasi of the intelligence briefing time change and concludes by saying, "Oh Jamie. I'd appreciate a status update in the H.I.S.S. Tank." In private the Commander and Destro call Anastasia, "Stasi." The Commander calls Destro by the nickname Stasi gave him to troll him, but more importantly to let him know that he's watching and listening. However, the Commander assures Destro that he will never call him Jamie again.



Stasi's role in COBRA Command is analogous to the Director of National Intelligence in the United States. Stasi began her career as field operative and she has always been in supervisory role over other COBRA field agents. As COBRA Command grew the Commander brought her inside to oversee COBRA's intelligence division. Her duties include briefing the Commander, the twins, and disseminating relevant intel to the Commander's generals.

She approves the COBRA Intel budget, allocates resources and manpower, and analyzes threat assessments and discusses with the Commander on the most effective way to handle the threat. She approves the Night Creepers' assignments and makes recommendations to the Commander on whether the SieGies need to be brought in on an assignment. Stasi also reviews and discusses with the Night Creeper Leader on which Night Creepers should begin Crimson Guard training at the Springfield Genius Academy.


Stasi loved working in the field and misses being on an assignment. She feels as if being directly involved in intelligence gathering is where she was the most useful and effective, but she has another desire and that is being a H.I.S.S. Tank operator. Upon seeing the H.I.S.S. Tank she became enamored with the weapon system, calling it a "big, black sexy instrument of warfare." Stasi is also taken aback that the H.I.S.S. Tank is in her favorite color, black.

She asked both Destro and the Commander to train her on the Hiss Tank to which she received an empathic "NO!" from both Destro and the Commander. The Commander reasoning being is Stasi is one of his best generals. Though he's never said it to her, he's come to value Stasi's opinion over the years. He has told her that his reasoning for not allowing her to become H.I.S.S. Tank qualified is because he can't risk her being captured or killed as the Commander put it, "cosplaying as Patton and Rommel as she recreates the North Africa campaign." Even though Destro and the Commander's relationship can be cantankerous at times Destro respects the Commander as Stasi's commanding officer and he isn't going to risk damaging his business relationship with COBRA by going behind the Commander's back and training Stasi on the H.I.S.S. Tank. Not to be deterred Stasi recruits Rip It into training her on the H.I.S.S. Tank with a large cash payment and by flirting with him. When it comes time for Stasi to train on the H.I.S.S. simulator she does it under an assumed name and in disguise.

Through his informats the Commander finds out the Stasi is training on the H.I.S.S. Tank. Realizing that Stasi is determined to learn how to operate a H.I.S.S. Tank, (his protestations be damned,) the Comnander grudgingly allows Stasi to continue her training on the tank, noting that the training will be done on her free time. When Stasi goes to H.I.S.S. Tank theory classroom sessions her comrades in her classroom group out preform all of the other groups because they wish to impress the intelligence chief and get a good H.I.S.S. Tank assignment when the tanks are delivered. Stasi takes on the best gunner and a tactican trainees for her one-on-one training sessions with Rip It because they're going to be her personal H.I.S.S. Tank crew and she also brings along three trainees who are struggling in the H.I.S.S. Tank training program to see they could benefit from the extra instruction.


If the Commander were to force to name anybody in COBRA Command as a trusted advisor and confidant would be the Baroness. It was her work as an intelligence field operative that grew COBRA Command from a radical fringe organization and her work as the COBRA Command's Director of Intelligence that has made COBRA the formidable threat to globally security that it is today.

Y'all are forgetting that Snake Eyes was an origin story. If the film was successful her hair would have gotten longer as the franchise progressed. If I were doing a JOE prequel I'd have Stasi be a short haired blonde (without her glasses,) initially because she would be under cover.

I think that it's essentially that for the next live action JOE project an attempt be made to cast an Eastern European actress as the Baroness, (or at least,) have her do the accent.
