-Moderators, please move this to a better place if appropriate.-
I'm not talking about GI Joe's European re-release/re-imagining as Action Man. I'm talking about the later stuff, from the late 90's/early 00's. I've been watching the early 2000's Action Man cgi cartoon to make customs of the remaining Team Xtreme characters that didn't get action figures. So... this whole Action Man thing confuses me. In the cgi cartoon, Action Man has an American accent, and some of the episodes have clearly been set in America. Were the episodes for European audiences also recorded with AM having a British accent? Also "Team Action Man" (or is it Action Man Team, I dunno) appears to have been used for an earlier cell-drawn Action Man show, but "Team Xtreme" is used for the cgi show. As best I can tell, the toyline was active throughout both of these shows, as there are characters as figures in both. Is the cgi cartoon a sequel to the cell-drawn one, or is it more of a Sunbow cartoon vs. Renegades thing? Can anyone sort this out for me, if anyone actually knows? |

Oh, you're talking about Hasbro 19905-2006 reboot that was kinda not great.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx( Wikiped blurb about it on Action Man wiki) Hasbro relaunch The military style Action Man toys made a brief resurgence in the early 1990s, but between 1995 and 2006 Hasbro used the name without any military theme as a modern adventurer complete with arch-enemies Dr. X and Professor Gangrene. Marketing changed from producing a basic figure with the option to buy several different outfits to each product being its own stand-alone figure, with included accessories such as an outfit and equipment for a given "mission". This specialisation together with improved production techniques led to figures with built-in abilities, such as karate moves or a working blowpipe. |

the two shows are separate things. The shows give different contradictory backstories to both AM and Doctor X.

From what I've seen of them, they were. Glad they weren't in 1:18 scale!
