Here's the thread for the best G.I. Joe figure of 1983! I'm splitting this into two polls... one for the carded and mail-in figures and the other for the vehicle drivers. Then, like 1982's poll, I'll take the top 10 vote getters and put them into a poll for the definitive best figure of 1983!
EDIT: Adding a link to the Best Figure (carded or mail-in) of 1983 poll, in case it gets buried: https://www.hisstank.com/forum/g-i-j...rded-mail.html

I have to go with Ace. That high altitude suit just looked futuristic and he came with the Skystriker. What’s not to love?

Going with Cover Girl on this one. Her backstory is interesting, I dig the leather jacket, and as a grease monkey she's a standout among female Joes and Cobras who are all intelligence operatives and spies. That and her vehicle is kick ass and came with a nifty tow hook.

I don't understand the love for ace.th3 Skystriker was amazing. Ace as a figure? Not so much. Would have loved a figure in a real flight suit. I guess a poll on most appropriately dressed vehicle driver of their position would go over as well though.

I haven't voted yet, can't decide if it's the HISS Driver or Wild Bill for me.

I went with Ace, but this whole group was good (minus Cover Girl's giant, odd-shaped noggin). And even though they're just simple repaints, I love and prefer Silver Pads Grand Slam and Tan Grunt to their originals.

Hiss driver got my vote. The Hiss was my first vehicle. And I used him as a Crimson Guard until they made that figure. I think it was issue 37 that had him as the CG in some weird art mistake.
Ace was a close second. He would have won if that neck piece was removable. |
