Nice to be back on track. So the monument - at the moment I am thinking a statue of Joe Colton with something to the fallen too. However, although spraying a Colton figure brass, I still have a problem with those arms being lower than the shoulders. Has anyone managed to fix this? or is the figure too valuable to tamper with or even paint for that matter?

If you're going for an o-ring statue look, you might want to check out the GIJoe pewter classics line from 2000. There's a pilot which would be fitting for an airbase, along with a couple of others you might like. Adding a simulated concrete or stone base to one or more to give it greater height would make for a easy Joe memorial.
