Ronald Reagan. He's the one that passed the law, that children's television could be tied to sellable merchandise. That's how a lot of us became fans I bet!!!

I think you need a statue of Joe Colton who looks like the action soldier with the beard from the GJ Joe comics. Behind that would be a curved wall with the names of the fallen. |

Nancy Reagan and Mr.T! And yes, Regan's deregulation of advertising to kids made all this happen... Gijoe, transformers, He-man... All of it. |

Personally I'd go for this, but use the G.I. Joe laser rifle.

I would venture that the GI Joe unit's battle honours (in the comics) would be something like:
Campaign Against Cobra (ie the whole comic) Battle For Cobra Island (the creation of the island) Battle for Springfield (when the Joes forced Cobra out) Cobra Island Civil War (as said) Benzheen War (from when BF2000 died etc) Wolkekuckuckland Campaign (the fighting in Borovia W-land etc in the late stages of the comic) |

There were others in that war, too, so I'd have a hard time excluding any. That's the only problem with that if it is a statue. Quote:
What counts as a G.I. JOE campaign? Is Tanks For The Memories a JOE campaign? How about when the fought the big ass robot at the Pit in the Trojan Gambit or when they were on the Gamesmaster's Island?
It would be hella fuckin' tedious and expensive to have campaign streamers for the JOE flag. Quote:

I would definitely add London in Peril as one of the battle honours. Thats from the British Battle Action Force Comics.
There are some great ideas here. I like the battle honours, I like the General Ryan story and I like honouring the fallen. Maybe a combination of all these is the answer? |
