Aha! time to show again my famous picture that shows Wild Weasel is armybuilderizable .
* Courtesy of UK GI Joe comics :P . For me, everything is canon if has GI Joe stamped on it, so I go with this (even if once, before having that comic, I swapped one double Wild Weasel). I've got 6 I think now. Looks much better than regular cobra soldiers in it! For me, Wild weasel is a character, and the rest of the pilots are dressed the same. I am thinking if I get the Funskool, I will make him the original Wild Weasel (as it has more blue, like in most comics) and the rest the ordinary pilots. Decimator never thought about it, I only got a second a few years back but I sold it to a good friend that didn't have it. But I have re-read his filecard, and I would say that clearly states he is a trooper, in the line about his helmet, as is well put by DarthBrett.Maybe, again he is the leader, and the troopers wear same uniform but with different colours. What it seems clear, is that just one is needed per Hammerhead, his helmet being expensive and meant for the driver. I would say that Lampreys v2 or v3 is quite good to man the rest of the craft.

Grunt was a generic trooper rather than an individual in the UK Palitoy Action Force toy series.

Vapor's an individual but there's obviously more pilots with identical outfits.
and, hey, Lava, don't forget AF Monthly/GI Joe European Missions also had two guys wearing Copperhead's uniform and neither were Copperhead! |

One of my favorite things about COBRA was that, unlike other ruthless terrorist organizations determined to rule the world, they had air power. Whether that be named individual characters as respected pilots in leadership positions, or uniformed pilots comprising a squadron, no other terrorists could compare.

Aero-Vipers aren't surgically altered to withstand g-forces like the Strato-Vipers and Star-Vipers. They lift weights and learn to take the pain. Aero-Vipers want to feel the stress on their bodies as they wrench their Condors through seemingly impossible maneuvers. So intense is their daily schedule, that they frequently report of recurrent dreams involving flying without benefit of an aircraft! Other versions of the Aero-Vipers released in 2009 and 2016 also mentioned them to be plural on their file cards, but their faces were partially concealed with balaclavas making any possible goatee unnoticeable. I do realize that some might prefer for army builder figures to be without facial hair or ethnic skin tone variety, but it has never bothered me if they do include those extra details. Any variety of skin tone/hairstyles just make those action figures seem more human to me.

Im not.
That figure included with the condor i see as a unique individual. They may or may not have later had balaclavas, he doesn't. Instead he has distinct features of his own. |

I assumed he was, Pony, since that is how the comic depicts him. Same with the Hydro-Viper in AF Monthly/European Missions.

Don't forget Rock-Viper and his mustache. I assume they don't all have mustaches, though it would be funny if that was an actual requirement of the job and they all did.
There's also Blackstar, who could be treated as a character or an army builder according to the filecard. I never really treated him as an individual, but I didn't have the money to army build him anyways, so it was kind of academic.

you're right.
come to think of it i couldnt army build when i was a kid, and i see a couple other comments about others not doing that. so. it makes sense to "individualize" some armybuilders. rockvipers and aerovipers may be a troop type, but given we were all mostly 4-10 at the time, we werent exactly swimming in cash to buy more than one of each figure at a time. range vipers' filecard says they're self sufficient troops. granted he has a helmet and can be easily armybuilt because of that, it just supports my thought above about "kids are probably only getting one of these things." there was one rock and range viper between my cousins and i. and look at the most famous cobra troop of all time for mowing down a bunch of gijoes, that saw viper. you only need one saw viper. i dont though, becuase i hate that skinny stupid sculpt with every fiber of my being. In my collection, this 2011 Pursuit of Cobra line Rock Viper (v.4) is altered to be Native American and without any facial hair, by using the head from a 2008 25th Anniversary Spirit Iron-Knife (v.3) figure.
