but to have real marvel characters in gijoe, one cant cut them all out because they're all connected. if the goal is to broaden gijoe into more stuff, you cant cut apart the stuff you want to put it in. I said the same thing twice in the last phrase, but it's a sentiment. like having a sandwich and saying "i want a supreme pizza, but no pepperoni, sausage, green peppers, or mushrooms." what's left? ham, onions, and olives. that's no fun. |

The only Marvel characters I would integrate are S.H.I.E.L.D. (sans any super-powered characters.). They're more the spies, while the Joes are the soldiers.

I could see Stark Industries suppling technology to the joes, like Tony did for S.H.I.E.L.D.

I've never liked Transformers much, so I didn't like them in Joe, and completely passed by the Marvel issues with a Transformer on the cover. But, I acknowledged that the two cartoons go hand-in-hand when it comes to music and voice talent, and stuff like CoCo in Transformers or the "Geraldo" reporter that was also in Inhumanoids.
They're just too different for me. It would be like crossing over Masters of the Universe with MASK, when Thundercats or Sectaurs or some other fantasy line would be more appropriate. I still remember walking through a bookstore in the 90's and seeing a paperback crossing X-Men with Star Trek: TNG. I was like "What the fuck is this?" |

Duke shows up in Marvel Secret Wars 2 along with Green shirts and some Joe vehicles, particularly the Skystriker.
In that comic The Beyonder turns a skyscraper into pure gold which collapses. The government has to clean it up and dispose of the gold in an ocean trench so the worlds economy doesn't collapse. The Joes provide security and escorts during the process. I always felt most of Shield, Hydra, and AIM would be good fits for the Joe Verse. Baron Zemo, Red Skull, Zola would have all made great Joe Villains. I wouldn't mind Captain America, Winter Soildier, and Black Widow being in it either. Caps about the peak of Super Powers I'd want in Joe stories though. Nick Fury and The Howling Commandos could be historical figures in the Joeverse. Doctor Doom would have been fun in the Joe world as well. I'd picture him as a reluctant Ally to the Joes after Cobra threatens Latvaria. Or as doing business with Destro. Apparently the Transformers, GI Joe, Godzilla and some other Toy properties are considered part of Marvel Universe Earth-91274 for the US comics. Nick Fury, SHIELD, and Spider-man are also in this world but are not the 616 versions of the characters.
https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Earth-91274 For the UK comics Joe/Action Force and Transformers are part of Earth-120185. https://marvel.fandom.com/wiki/Earth...arvel_Universe Marvel basically split all the Toy based comics off of the Main 616 Marvel Timeline when they ran into rights issues with Rom the Spaceknight. So at the time the properties were part of the main Marvel Universe now they are in side universes. Marvel Comics and its artists and writers basically did all the work creating the Transformers and GI Joe Universes as we know them. Marvel created almost all the personalities and a ton of the names for the toys, the comic books, and even the cartoons through their Sunbow animation company.
