Since we have been talking about G.I. Joe and the toys, comics, cartoons, books, etc. and other media in some of the other threads and age came up, I figured why not make a poll and see how old everybody else on here is.
Vote in the poll and also post on here as well! I am curious how older everybody is and interested to see when we were introduced to G.I. Joe.

'82 Breaker was my first figure. Random pickup at Sears. He didn't come with a realistic looking gun, which helped break the ice at home. I would have been around seven. I didn't get really into the line until a relative bought me a copy of issue #25 a couple of years later. After that, I was hooked.

I was on my living-room floor in front of the heater and my mother walked in and handed me an '83 Cobra. That's how I was introduced to G.I. Joe.

i was born the year Gijoe A real American hero came out 1982.. Most of my joes were from the mid 80's to early 90's. I had a few figures from the early 80's but not to many.I still recall that Steeler and Mobat were my first figure and vehicle I owned. it must have been a year or 2 after it came out cause I was to young to get it when it first came out in 82 lol

70-74. In it since the beginning of ARAH in 82.
I remember wanting the figure "GI Joe", not understanding that was the team name, not a person. I remember a girl down the street calling my house to tell me the cartoon was on, knowing I was a big fan. I remember a birthday where every gift was gi joe, except one kid got me connect four. Flash was my first joe. Good times, those 80s. Last edited by GI FLINT; 10-13-2022 at 09:59 PM.. Reason: Typo |

I think my first joe was Flint but my favorite was Lifeline. The two figures I carried around for my entire childhood were Lifeline and Egon (from Ghostbusters).

74, so I was 10 in 84, when the best Cobra line hit (Storm Shadow, Firefly, Baroness, Zartan, Water Moccasin and the Rattler). For me, that was Joe at it's apex, but in retrospect, I'd say 1985 was the last "great" year, before it got too zany.
That being said, I still loved many figures from 1986 onward. |

Well, I'm not as old as G.I. Joe itself, so there's that.
I was born when Martin Luther King Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy were both still alive. Man had not yet visited the moon, not even to orbit it. My first G.I. Joes were Action Soldier and Action Sailor, but they were significantly larger that then 1:18 scale that I collect now.

1974.
I was a SW guy, 1980-1983…but then I was introduced to Joes in ‘84. My grandpa let me pick out two figures (CC and Snow Job) at TRU, and I was hooked. The cartoon, then comic, cemented my fandom forever.
