They're both amazing, but to me, the HISSTank is really something special. The Classified team really has the brand firing on all cylinders right now. We're very lucky. It's a great time to be a Joe fan! |

So, we've covered some 'criticisms' in this thread... but I'm curious - what would you say POSITIVE about the line so far? Off the top of my head:
- The PRODUCT is outstanding. Sculpting, artwork, accessories. Definitely A+ quality design and production all around. - Lenny seems like the best design manager / leader (whatever his official title is) that we have had on GIJoe since the 1980's. You can tell he loves it - and it shows in the figures. - The Hiss Tank and Skystriker HasLabs were both Prime, Grade-A Quality, hit-it-out-of-the-park packages. Tons of add-ons, extras, figures, etc. Definitely worth the price. - Agree with the product being outstanding. Classified is one of the best 6" toy lines out there for the price range it's in. And certainly Hasbro's best 6" toy line by far, outshining ML and SWBS by a country mile. - Lenny, Tony and Cory are hitting it out of the ballpark right now and we're pretty lucky to have a team of guys that obviously know G.I. Joe well and have an enthusiastic passion for the characters and figures and vehicles. Serpentor and his Air Chariot 100% look like a labor of love. And yes, Emily is a great brand manager and looks like she enjoys being part of the Joe brand. - Another positive for Classified I would say is the Joe brand team seem to listen and try to cater to what we are wanting for the most part. Other lines, such as SW, don't ever seem to listen to the fans. - I'm also pretty impressed with the character selections so far in this line. I do hope we start seeing more 1987-1994 figures announced in the next year or 2, but so far we have gotten Arctic Storm Shadow, the Alley Viper, Croc Master, Falcon and pipeline reveals for Tunnel Rat, Big Ben and the Range-Viper - so that's a good sign!

Rather than being ruined, it's more like getting two display pieces in one - figure in the figure display, box in the pile 'o boxes. If anything impacts sales, it'll be that there's not actually a good shot of the figure on the packaging. If there is a noticeable sales impact, my guess is they'll go to the Indiana Jones style of box. Those seem to be a good compromise. But I doubt it'll matter one way or the other. |

Do you think a Classified AWE Striker would cost $80? If so, I can't see that coming with a figure for that price. Serpentor's air chariot is supposed to be big, but the AWE Striker would necessarily be bigger, no? If not $80, what do you all think a fair price for the AWE Striker and a figure would be? Or should it just be the AWE Striker and no figure for fleet-building?
Remember, Serpentor is entirely new tooling (... I think?). Plus he's got a few accessories. Crankcase being a repaint, and only coming with a knife and CG's wrench or whatever, would shift some more of the budget onto the vehicle. |

I've only started keeping the boxes, but to me the packaging is improved with the full box art since it's not like the figures are in it anyway. And empty box is pointless for display purposes, and the population of people who return the figure to the box after opening is a further, smaller, subset of those who keep the boxes in the first place.

Those who may not be, or may buy one to open and one to display in the box, may not be as happy with the decision. I've always bought 2 of everything. Maybe not when I was a broke kid, but as an adult. But yes I can see how displaying an empty windowed box wouldn't be as appealing. |

OG AWE Striker was 6.49 in 1985. OG Serpentor was 6.99 in 1986. I think you could do the AWE Striker for 80.

In 2008 Serpentor and the Air Chariot were $15, the AWE Striker was $16. |

I think this will be me. I haven't liked any of the windowless packaging we've seen so far. At all. And I'm unsure how many of these I'll actually open.
Windowed packaging is essentially a display case. I like it. And I'd imagine very few people are throwing the packages away so it's not really an environmental issue. It seems to be them cheaping out and trying to save a few more pennies while raising the prices. |

I keep seeing Kurt Russell, but... either way, it's not the way his face should look. Too flat.
(If they were going to miss, at least make him look like Don Johnson, y'know?) |
