Quite a bit of casual fan who get on their knees for cartoon inspired retro bullshit.
And then cry and weep that preorders don’t cum in there hands fast enough. Oh we are talking toys being able to bend? Better keep the rest classified.

Dude, you won't be disappointed! I got all 8 volumes earlier this year and am sooo glad I did. A wealth of valuable information on the toys' designs, early concept art, final pitch art, color studies, sculptor sheets, photos, last-minute changes, BTS info, etc.
Volume 9 and 10 just funded, but you can still get the bundles I think. Also, BBTS carries them albeit at a higher price. But each Kickstarter they let you order any back-issues. ALL, yes ALL G.I. Joe fans should have these 'Creating G.I. Joe' books in their collections. They are just as essential as the 'Collecting the Art of G.I. Joe' books are and complement them really well.

Or crouched behind his shield using one of the cut-outs/scoops on top as a stable firing platform.

If you just have a casual attitude or interest in that sort of stuff then maybe they aren't worth it? Personally, I've never once regretted the money I spent on them or second-guessed the decision to acquire them.

When they initially go up on Kickstarter they are only $40 and well worth it. 80 pages, high quality paper stock, full color. I would say that if you have the slightest interest at all about the making of the figures and vehicles, what went on behind-the-scenes in order to get them produced, all of the creative decision-making that it entailed as well as concepts that never materialized or never got produced then YES, they are 100% worth it.

Yeah, I'm probably going to have to dive in. The covers for some of the earlier volumes didn't blow me away and seeing that they're paperbacks kind of put me in mind of the old comic strip collection books like Calvin & Hobbes; not exactly forty dollar products. But I'm dying to see that content.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! If you haven't already, do an image search on google for "creating GI Joe book" to sort of get a basic idea of what they entail and look like. Anyways, glad I could persuade you! I honestly think you will enjoy them once you have the book(s) in-hand!
