My main criticism with Classified, as far as the actual product is concerned, is the hip joints. I'm afraid to move most of my figures cause of the chance of sheering those ball joints off. Zartan and Storm Shadow and Commando Snake Eyes in particular all have frighteningly tight joints and resist being moved or adjusted. Articulation is one of the selling points of this toyline and I feel like I'm missing out on most of that cause the hip joints just aren't functional.

Hasbro ain't touching them with a 40 foot pole right now.
Hell, Hasbro ain't touching them with a pole that could stretch from the earth to the moon... of an exoplanet hundreds of light years away... right now. |

-Loving the retro designs.
-I'd suggest staying away from the realistic coloring with Classified. Stick to the more saturated colors (ex. Stalker is very gray. His green outfit lacks color whereas the latest Gung Ho feels right on the mark) -Continue with the specialized weapons like back in the day (axe, shotgun, sniper rifle, grenade launcher). This really makes the figures feel specialized and differentiates them. Another example is Torpedo with his very obvious loadout and gear visually telling his role in any mission. -Classified Stalker's face looks very old and mean or angry. His original figure and his face in the comic always felt kind, generous and calm. I'd suggest trying to stay away from angry or mad type expressions as they feel more like villains, not the good guys. Also a more youthful look feels like it better fits the Joes. -With Classified, keep the belts low and as separate objects when possible. On Dusty, his belt rides a bit high and tight and this accentuates the really narrow hips of the figures. Figures like Duke look stronger and better with their thicker belts that can ride lower. -Try and get the backpacks to connect better on classified. -Loving the O-ring more flexible plastics in the hands and feet. No fear of broken thumbs! No real crits. -The o-ring scale HISS and AWE are great. Looking forward to the SkyStriker. -Please give us ketchup and mustard. -Overall amazing sculpting and work with classified and O-ring.

I'd suggest keeping with the retro theme. Same colors and accessories as the vintage figures, but maybe with extras. Speaking of retro, I wish Gentle Giant kept up with the Jumbo 12" GI Joe line. For some reason they stopped after making a few of the 1982 wave. Was hoping they'd hit '84. I'm unsure how involved Hasbro was with any of that. |

The Classified Siegies have M4s (essentially the carbine version of the M16), and they'd look pretty weird packed with Joes, considering those bayonets just seem like more of a Cobra thing. Why don't Flint and Falcon make sense as shotgun-toting characters? Their first ARAH figures were packed with shotguns. The majority of 3 3/4" figures made for both Flint and Falcon over the decades have had shotguns as their primary weapons.

The weird one was Cover Girl, really, since she never had a regular weapon associated with her. Her CC figure came with... I wanna say Stalker's gun? But she was a bit more of a blank slate. I kinda wanted her to come with a MANPAD. Last edited by GeoffDes; 10-05-2022 at 06:58 AM.. |
