I don't think a VAMP with Clutch would suffer the same fate as Engine of Vengeance. Vehicles are ingrained into every Joe collector's mind. If you make a Clutch, then you need a VAMP. (or vice versa, you can't have a VAMP without a Clutch). Whereas that's not part of Marvel collector's culture. It didn't help that they made a HasLab out of a 3rd tier character (Ghost Rider), and the 3rd popular of the Ghost Riders (after Johnny and Danny), then charge $350 for it.

This video from a couple years ago goes over the best selling vehicles in the ARAH Joe line. They also talk about which were the most profitable compared to overall sales.
If I were Hasbro, I would be looking at this list and using it against the following criteria: 1) How iconic is the vehicle? 2) Would there be a reason to army build it? Or how can we add options for army building? 3) Cost vs perceived value Personally, I find Cobra stuff to be far more iconic. But the sales data appears to be evenly split. |

Frankly, i don't think a VAMP will be a Haslab. I could easily see it being a pulse/online exclusive item after the success of the HISS and its many potential reuses

I feel like if you're paying that much, it should have all features. I don't think Hasbro is knocking off $100 because it's not motorized, either...Hasbro is dead set on a premium price point for Haslab. I think that's clearly obvious at this point with the Haslab Rancor, GR, the Sentinel, and Galactus. You aren't getting anything "cheaper" - they'll just not include features but still charge you premium price.

Is that specifically for the Legends team or is it company wide? It seems as if each brand is given a certain amount of autonomy in regards to decision making. Given the fact that each uses different kinds of cardstock for packaging it wouldn't surprise me if each team gets to decide on what the composition of the stretch goals for their individual HasLab would be.

it's not accurate, but whatever color they go with; green or brown; it'd be a good idea to have both styles of weapon attachments for it.
but if there's a "early bird" thing where they need to have people bid on it for a very basic model...eh it's already a pretty basic vehicle. not a 350$ vehicle though. hasbro has a great track record of taking the wrong lesson to learn. im loving the schadenfreude of a failed haslab. so. that's my input. |

I wonder how that $230 Boba Fett's Throne Room playset is doing. That might be the best indicator if there is potential for product that is bigger than deluxe but not quite HasLab level.

It's still in stock on Pulse and they raised the limit to 5 (always a sign something isn't selling well, unless they've changed their policies on non-Joe stuff).

Vamp HasLab would have to include: Base Vamp, with windshield, rubber tires, removeable accessories, opening hood, working gun turret, light-up dash, and include Clutch v1.
Earlybird would be a dress-uniform Col. Hawk. Stretch Goal #1 - Another v1 OG13 figure (Grand Slam?) Stretch Goal #2 - Chaplains Assistant Motor Pool Accessories / Set Pieces Stretch Goal #3 - Towable of some sort (MMS, Hal, etc) Price - $275.00 |
