My favorites were always Lowlight (Coz I dig Snipers), Outback (who I have always treated as an Australian) and Duke (Coz i like the idea of just a great soldier).
I do like SNake Eyes. I mean he's a dude in black with a sword who's silent and mysterious, but still has a ton of character. Whats not to like?

Off the top of my head, my 5 favorite good-guys at the moment, on October 1, 2024, are probably:
1. Lady Jaye (Sunbow) 2. Shipwreck (Sunbow) 3. Snake Eyes (comic) 4. Flint 5. Clutch

I was quite dismissive of Snake Eyes, until I read the 80s comic books in my 30s. Unfortunately, the brand seems to focus on the surface level "ninja cool" image of Snake Eyes, while the poignant origin story of this tragic warrior is overlooked, or not emphasized.

The truth is, I never read the GI Joe comics as a kid -- I came in through the original animated series. So I only have vague memories of Snake Eyes from that time, as he didn't play a huge role in the cartoon. As such, Flint was my guy, up there with Optimus Prime for me as an icon.
However! In about 2000, when I was 19, and got back into GI Joe and really discovered Snake Eyes. He has since become a definite favorite for me, probably #2 to Flint. He's just such a great design and character, I think it's impossible not to be a fan. |

This is hard to answer I think it is likely The Baroness though (long term speaking).
Snake Eyes is fine in moderation. I don't know if I have much in the way of favourites - I like the whole scene overall really. There is things with pets I always thought were fun in toy terms or someone who has a cool premise (like Sci Fi) or a nice set of gear (Like Ambush). |
