8. We will unfortunately never have *Historical File Cards* on the back of the action figure packaging. These were all fascinating and well written educational scriptures detailing real life historical events as part of a fictional characters background and upbringing. This is where Mr. Larry Hama really earned his pay and the file cards were so educational and influential to our young minds. Because many of the characters we loved had references to patriotic conflicts that the United States engaged in. It added an entire dimension of reality to the fiction and it helped ground us in our dedication and love for our Nation in our real lives growing up...even in today's dark climate and rough times ahead. At least we can fondly look back! *sigh* I truly miss the 80's. The modern world is in the gutter and going even deeper in it. |

There was nothing like picking up a figure and reading the filecard on the way home while mom was driving. It was incredible. |

I'd just be happy to see a list of "achievements" on a file card. Doesn't have to have a name and place of birth, or even anything about their personality or which wars they fought in.
Just list the weapons they're trained on, which branch they were, and which schools they attended, or special training they have. Military Police, Intel, Ranger School, Special Forces, SCUBA guys, HALO guys, snipers, anti-armor people, Infantrymen, Arctic troops, Mountain and Jungle troops, Engineers and Demolition specialists, "laser guys", etc. For the ninja types, which style (just make some shit up, like Slice's scorpion technique thingy) they specialized in, or relevant people they trained under. Is Kamakura related to Snake Eyes? Student? Ex-student? Difference between Red and Blue ninja? Guys like Psyche Out, Mindbender or Crystal Ball could just have a few lines about their education or special skills. Something! The backs of the Classified figures are boring AF. They have all these accessories but literally nothing about their occupation or specialty. Kids gotta be wondering, "What TF is an Alley Viper even? What is Python Patrol? Why is Destro wearing this mask?" Last edited by Cobra Agent 66; 09-13-2022 at 05:35 PM.. Reason: sp. |
