I didn't know they were twins until I spent more time on here in recent months. However, I've noticed some things in the toys where it seems this lore is forgotten or unknow:

There's no Zandar in the 2004 set with the purple Zarana
Zarana's not in the Dreadnoks BBTS set...however it's likely because of her two SDCC exclusives-though her shirt is nowhere close to the pink of Zandar's
Zarana's v2 outfit has no pink coloring with no Zandars in the line
Zandar's not in the 3pk comic book line
Zarana's not mentioned on Zandar's filecards, only Zartan
Zandar's not mentioned in Zarana's filecards, only Zartan

The filecards just give you a little back story on the figures so kids can let their imaginations go wild and come up with their own stories based on the little information provided.

What if Zandar and Zarana actually get less popular because of DT's crybully borderline OCD spam threads? I'm starting to wish Zandar was the twin that didn't survive, helping Zarana to become a female punk Elvis.

I think it would be ok if she didn't spam every thread with it. NOt just the who is your favorite character type of thread but its even threads that have nothing to do with them that she some how morphs into being about them. It would be like if somebody talked on the TF forums about optimus prime and bumblebee every 5 seconds and how they have a father/son relationship and they need to acknowledge this in every form.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this before but the "pre-production" Zarana is supposed to have earrings that match Zandar's earrings. Not sure if the earrings were meant to match and Hasbro decided to change it and scrap the earrings or what.

Yes, that's right, but it wasn't the pre-production version. It was the regular version first sold at market.

The original Zarana figure did have earrings in each ear, but they did not seem intended to match Zandar. I'm not sure why, but Hasbro stopped using that Zarana head and replaced it with an entirely new sculpt which did not have any earrings. (Maybe they were having problems with the tools for that head, so they spent extra money to make new ones.)

The entry on the YoJoe indicates that the new head sculpt was also used for Convention figures, the 1990 Funskool figures, and the 2004 G.I. Joe Collector's Club convention boxed set figure.

Because the original head sculpt with earrings is more limited, it is thought to be worth more according to Mark Bellomo in the 2005, 2009, and 2018 editions of his book, The Ultimate Guide to G.I. Joe 1982-1994.

Okay, I gotcha. I thought I kept hearing the earring version of Zarana was a "pre-production" figure. That's why I put it in quotation marks because I thought I kept hearing that version was that. But good to know.

It has been my goal to see that the detail of Zarana & Zandar being twins is not lost or forgotten or done away wth officially, nor undermined to that outcome.
