my concept was essentially an O-ring Eagle, but with swappable heads, a removable gas-mask and a helmet similar to the Ops Core FAST helmet or the IHPS helmet which the figure could wear with or without the gas-mask. Weapons would be a sculpted sidearm on the right thigh and a sculpted flashbang on the torso, with an MP5SD3 suppressed SMG and a Remington 870 shotgun for door breaching. The guns would either have a small peg/post or a small port on them with corresponding post/peg or port on the right shoulder of the figure to mount the weapon like in COD Modern Warfare. The hooded head is a reference to the way Eagle is depicted in Battle Action Force, without his respirator like on his datafile.
The figure was to be called Sabres, a reference to SAS Sabre squadrons. The backstory was something like: Sabres are SAS Commandos seconded to [insert whatever the OP Recall good guys are called] from UK Special Forces, each Sabre is a highly-skilled commando, trained in close-quarter combat, jungle warfare, demolitions, high-altitude parachuting and hostage rescue. Each Sabre is one of the most dangerous elite soldiers on the planet, together they're death incarnate for [insert villain faction name]. Colours, basic black with gear picked out in grey, black helmet, grey hood and a grey'n'black union flag on the sleeve. |

So,
* black suited CQB look with that awesome low vis UK flag * a tactical vest of some sort I assume? any style in mind? black also? mp5 mag pouch sizes obviously, but w/ visible shotgun shells or no? * removable FAST or IHPS or similar helmet, optional gas mask, the heads you specified * pistol sculpted on right thigh, flashbang on torso. how about a knife? * integrally suppressed MP5SD * 870 for breaching, I?m guessing without stock. hooligan tool also, if attachable to back? * not a computer gamer, is COD mount similar to having the weapon slung over the back? or vertical like a lot of the Classified figures do? Sounds like a really cool idea for a figure, I hope you try to get someone to sketch him for you if we ever get a chance to submit again. Or if he isn?t in Recall ever, I think he sounds perfect for Longbow too. I know I?d be down for three or so! |

1). Still bothering me where I’ve seen that scheme before…that is, all those colors together before! 2). Awesome to hear the thinking on the helmet, have wanted to learn more for a couple months now. [quote=“AnimatedTako”] “ That first wrinkle under the helmet is intended to be caused by the chin. I wanted the proportions to be a little off and unsettling, and the thick cloth neck going right into the helmet was intended to invoke a grubby wriggling worm as he looks around. The red eyes are intended to be the direct line of sight for the human underneath, and the diamond array of circles above are camera/sensors for the systems in the helmet to help calculate firing arcs and stuff.“. That was a perfect description of how I reacted to it! Mission accomplished, in terms of one nerd at least! 3). That is some great elucidation on the mortar. I totally agree that the ball joint for a baseplate and backpack-handgrip aiming system sounds perfect. Love the idea of an ammo box too, preferably with a Cobra logo on the side. (I kinda want this as a Cobra, more than a Recall villain I think. Though obviously any opportunity is great.). The ball joint idea fits right in with Laser Viper and Astro Viper and maybe even HEAT Viper if that curved backpack exhaust was supposed to be a stabilizer for the launcher. Obviously the idea also has some resemblance to Metal Head too — bang! Bang! As far as the ideas of servos for recoil, I say yeah, some simple piston-ish shock absorbers maybe sculpted into the brace maybe. As far as targeting, my opinion is that they have a fair ability to do it natively through their individual equipment, but precise aiming requires networked control by Laser-Vipers, the Fang 2, Hiss 2, or Condor. Night Vipers can maybe give useful suggestions in the dark, or sandstorms or oil fires or the like, but probably only on a limited basis. Deadzone: It surprises me that the watch cap + headset idea wasn’t already a starting point for the plan! I think it is most tasteful, just like the colors. I have to admit that I hated the part where you talked about possibly changing them. I already think they’re superb. As far as the Bermuda beacons vs singleton antenna, I certainly agree with your reasoning to whatever extent you couldn’t do both. But I wonder if he could have three of them fit on a pack that could in turn go on the robo-dog? I admit coming with two backpacks would be awkward for a character without a dog though, so maybe it’s dumb. I see them as like a deep red for some reason, like ruby or the color of red wine in low light. Maybe translucent like some of those awesome 80s space Legos. I like your wide angle jammer a lot and think it’s just fine as is, as long as the thickness is suitable for holding without unduly stressing thumbs. It’s always cool to store stuff in backpacks, and I tend to imagine him having his directed energy gun pegged to the side of his backpack most of the time, with his Scar in hand. Surprisingly, I don’t mind him having a 2000s weapon at all. As far as the insulated shirt, I totally noticed it as such, but I was thinking about it from a thermal direction (both warmth and heat signature control, same as Low Light v2) and protection from transmitted radiation moreso than electrical surges transmitted as shocks. Sort of anti-rem long johns that I imagine he wears under his pants as well. Anyway, great work again! Thanks for putting all this awesome stuff out there! |

I made a MTF updated Eagle, but the trouble is, you can't get the helmet to fit with the gas-mask without cutting off the strap over the head and they don't have a hooded head, only balaclava heads. And the vest I used didn't have a back port for the shotty, so I left it off.

You could get pretty close if you get the hood-with-mask they have and just slice off the mask portion, like I did with this guy:

Supplemental Assault Team
The "greenshirts" of Operation Recall. Shipped out like Mail-Order (polybagged with a copy/paste file card). The idea is to take 'plain'/'regular' looking parts and piece them together with a cohesive paint app. (Breecher's legs, Castigadore's arms, Retelo's waist, etc.) Heads selected at random? Male/female, and skin tone is randomly selected. SAT figures are shipped out randomly. |
