Can anyone please help me out? I'm working on a Mauler project and need to know what the actual color was of the 1985 Mauler tank? Color code would be wonderful but I'd settle for a name of the color. Even HASBRO on can't give me an answer! (I should be offering a prize at this point but maybe my sincere respect and awe will suffice) Thanks guys!!

So are you asking someone to go and "shoot" the color at a paint store so you can match it?

Meh. No prize, no answer.
I'm kidding, of course. I think you'll likely have to approximate it, I'd imagine that info is lost to the ages. What do you need it for?

You can go to the 3DJoes Mauler page, click on a photo, then right click to Copy Image Address. Then paste that in a site like Image Color Picker and it will give you HEX and RGB colour codes for each colour it sees in the picture. Note that the results will vary by photo depending on the lighting in each photo. But if it's a decent photo, then the results should be close enough for your purposes, whatever they may be. |

You can also take a Mauler to a paint store and get them to "color match" the paint. Granted this assumes you have a Mauler and the plastic hasn't faded, stress marks, or whatever.
This is of course if you want paint. |

I used to have the tank and if I had even a piece would do it myself but if someone already knows the color that would be great! I wouldn’t ask ya to go to the trouble to color match anything for me.

Ha! Yeah it’s been quite a quest. Had the tank but it got given away and can’t color match it now… I’m working on a project I will be putting up on our channel when done and wanted to get the color just right

One option are online sites that will analyze photos and give you the colour codes.

I don't know if these colors were the same as used in the 1980's when they designed the Mauler and based it on, I assume the Desert Sand color the US Army used at the time. But the link below may help you. It has the camouflage colors the United States Army has used since the 1970s, along with their color codes.

Man thanks so much that’s a lot of help. I got a mauler pic and matched the color and got some codes. I’m hoping one of your military colors correlates and matches up!
