Actually, its ironic in a sense...to take a break for 4 years, to show the country/world just how lousy a job "the other guy on the other side" did , given 4 years...and then have everyone calling, no pleading... for you to come back.

I'd like to have seen more storytelling focused on the '82 and '83 ARAH characters (pre-Duke), though the '84 wave was also great, it'd been interesting to learn more about those first two waves.

I'm going to be the odd-man-out and say Star Brigade. I'm dying to know where that crazy train was going.

I actually wouldn’t mind more Sigma 6. I wish they’d have given us some of that in a 4in scale. Other than that, more POC definitely. They were doing some amazing figures.

Since its inception, the GI Joe brand has been in a state of near constant flux, from the subtle, incremental tonal shifts toward more outlandish sci-fi concepts of the ARAH era to the well-defined brand stories of "Spy Troops" or "Pursuit of Cobra," from the minor construction adjustments of 83-85 to the total aesthetic reinventions of GI Joe Extreme and Sigma 6.
GI Joe has never been one thing, conceptually or structurally, for more than a year or two. Every year or two, the brand changes course. So my question is this: if you had the ability to go back in time with the power to authorize the continuation of just one era of the brand for four more years, which era would it be? Personally, I'd go back to 2011 and authorize the continuation of the Pursuit of Cobra era, both conceptually and aesthetically. For me, 2011 is the 1985 of the Modern era--the brand at its most confident, well-funded, and focused. You can feel the passion and commitment of the designers and brand managers in even the most flawed of the POC releases. More importantly, you can feel them pushing the brand forward, using familiar designs as a launching pad rather than a crutch. But that's just me. How about you? Would you stretch 1984 out a few years? Would you give Sigma 6 more time to discover itself? Would you allow the Valor vs Venom storyline to play itself out a while? Every series has ran its course. Expand the Universe and bring some originality back into it. What?s about to drop will open a lot of peoples eyes , and minds, allowing them that feeling of originality again. Mark my words.

If I had the power I would bring back the GI Joe team with new characters from the modern US military, a team much like Delta Force actually is. You could have children and grandchildren of past Joe personalities but not overwhelming. It would exactly mirror modern US capabilities and equipment and a cartoon and comic book to build fans. The new characters would be a cross section of our real American heroes from the farms and cities and urban areas, citizen soldiers. I would showcase our diverse heritage without silly costumes as well. My Joe characters would be a team and they would dress like it and not like a wannabe wrestler on television.
