Destro is an icon in the ARAH world, but when he first appeared it was kinda' ridiculous, and he looked like a DC super-villain. Add in the open vest and the medallion...and that's wacky.
For vehicles, probably the HAL or the JUMP. The JUMP was more sci-fi than the "army men" vibe that the first wave had going for it, but I was okay with it because I liked the play options it created. "Hey, my guy can FLY now! Watch out, bad guys" The HAL... I never really understood or got the use for it. A big artillery canon (with shells and stuff) on wheels, I could get, but a LASER one? It also hurt that it was probably the lamest of the first wave "premium" vehicles (the ones that came with a figure).

Further, I'd say it wasn't until 1991 when we saw the first truly wacky figures (Sky Creeper, Snow Serpent v2, and the Eco-Warriors line).

It was always a little "out there" with Flash and the HAL, but had a somewhat militaristic sci-fi feel. But I think Tomax & Xamot were the first "out there" designs. I've never seen a confirmation, but given when they came out, I'm confident that they were inspired by the circus twin knife-throwers from Octopussy.

Scarlett, Covergirl, Baroness, Lady Jaye, Zarana, Jinx. I mean c'mon! Who let them out of the kitchen? If anything, should've made them the cooks, not Roadblock!

Zartan. He was the only character that felt like he could transition to the Marvel Universe and fight guys like Daredevil and Spider-Man.

Quick Kick is NOT wacky and needs a 6" figure representation.
Most of the DiC stuff is wacky, especially Python Patrol. |
