There was a thread here a long time ago (ROC era?) that led to this:
G.I.Joe Scale Models: Weapons I also think some of sniper rifles are kind of generic and could be many modern sniper rifles. But many of these are firearms I have never heard of and I think of myself is a gun guy and sort of an expert. |

A few thoughts from a nongun expert:
I was first surprised to see so many foreign made weapons, but then realized the genius of it. What a great way to hide who was attacking you. The battlefield forensics would be a nightmare. On that note, sharing ammo and clips, would be difficult. Did/does Hasbro have the permission to reproduce the weapons? Or do they just get them close enough not to have to pay royalties? How to scale are these to the real life? The hand guns alone can drive me to question this. I'm loving all of this thread. Thank you for starting it, or making a new version. |

Great link! That pretty much shuts down what I wanted to accomplish here, especially Beachhead and Firefly's submachine guns.

Logistics is an issue, but a team operating covertly in another country might find it easier to use whatever the local use and procure ammo locally. |

I'm liking these two websites but there's some odd guesses on both of them.

G.I.Joe Scale Models: Weapons So this is a bit of a different topic, but not so much that it would need its own thread: what Joes and Cobras came with weapons that they would never have actually used if they were in the real world? For example, would Dusty have actually used a FAMAS? The wikipedia entry says it's a foreign weapon, and doesn't list the US under the users. Last edited by Matt82; 03-20-2022 at 01:46 PM.. |

the FAMAS F1 was France's main assault rifle, so no, he wouldn't. It's pretty doubtful Crankcase and Ripcord would use the Galil and the FAL as well. Neither would Bullhorn, or Roadblock who has the HBAR version, use the Steyr AUG.
