I prefer neopolitan. Best of both worlds, but with a third option because either/or sucks. Fuck the two party system!

Both. Characters evolve and change, or at least they should. Snake Eyes' backstory with the Arashikage is pretty much the backbone of G.I. Joe, but in the comic he looks better in the commando getup (and the best issues of the comic happened before he got the visor).
Over the years I've really come to love his "kung fu" version 3. And it was cool how he got the mask. Just took it off of some dead BSM torturer and ran with it lol. |

First of all well done on another great video. Another interesting topic too.
You are right for sure Snake eyes has been over done. Every time there is a new franchise of GI Joe Snake Eyes is redone etc. The movie was a disaster so what is the point of this? I like version 2 Snake Eyes a lot but yes I agree he should not be indestructible. He is just an awesome soldier throw in the ninja training for the storm shadow rivalry but this should not define him. He is an elite soldier like all the Joes but he is the best of the best. Not a super hero though just the guy you are glad to have on your team. For me he is always like a forward recon role. Maybe HALO jumping into hostile areas setting up camp in a remote bush and feeding intel back for the main assault. Maybe he then links up with underground resistance and helps them sabotage transport and infrastructure ahead of the main assault. That is Snake eyes for me. The best Snake Eyes is when he's so sneaky that he writes himself out of the cartoon/comic.

I think nerds think about shit way too much and nerd all the fun out of this stuff. Snake Eyes was just a toy with a mysterious look and a slim bio given to him on the fly by a comic writer, who then later fleshed it out while writing said comic. As often happens with toy/comic/cartoon characters, trends are followed and changes made in an attempt to remain relevant and popular.
So with Snake Eyes still being a ninja and that being the main focus of his characterisation are you saying ninjas are still the trend? |

I prefer Commando Snake Eyes, but I do like the story arc with him and Storm Shadow in the comics. I do find it a bit ridiculous that Snake Eyes is better than Storm Shadow, even though SS has trained all his life and SE only started training after Vietnam, but whatever.

You have summed it up perfectly and we have the same thought process when it comes to Snake Eyes. |
