Agreed. Ever since I first saw the pic of the Cobra Soldier and Officer in the Order of Battle comic where the Soldier seems to have an AK and the Officer a Skorpion, I thought these would be ideal weapons for them.

It depends on your JOEverse. However I do agree with you that it seems the blue shirt should have came with AK instead of the officer

I tend to buy third-party AKs and variations to gear up my troops with, whatever scale I'm collecting at the time. I do tend to keep Cobra Troopers using Soviet-era weaponry so a squad will have a few guys with AKs, one or two with SVDs, an Officer with an AKSU or similar, and somebody with an RPK (and maybe an RPG or grenade launcher guy too).

From what I understand, the Cobra Officers are "Major" ranked, the Cobras are "Sergeant" ranked, and the Cobra Troopers are "PFC" ranked (the bottom tier with the Vipers). Weird that they never made a v.2 "Cobra."

My understanding was that Vipers were supposed to basically replace the Blueshirts. I prefer the interpretation that they're a more dedicated infantry force and you still have the Blueshirts doing a lot of the support stuff (and fighting when necessary). |

What's the difference between "Cobras" and "Cobra Troopers?" I know during the nu-sculpt era there were a couple packs that had Cobra Troopers with NCO stripes on their sleeves but I didn't think Hasbro had ever put out any kind of single-card "Cobra Trooper NCO."

The Infantry 6 pack was cool because the ranks were on the shoulders: 1 Master Sergeant, 1 Staff Sergeant, and 4 PFCs. |

Me too. My Vipers are my shock troopers and my Cobra Soldiers (Troopers) are the ones at Cobra HQ doing misc stuff such as guard duty, moving MASS device materials, running Cobra Commander's AV equipment, etc.

Yeah, the Blue Shirts are light infantry to me, or the guys that make bank heists, take hostages, do drive by assassinations, i.e., basic terrorist cell stuff. The Vipers are geared for cartel takeovers, establishing garrisons, gang wars, pacifying entire villages, stormtrooper stuff, etc.
