Hey people,
I have a question. I own a Valor vs Venom Sword of Snake Eyes by" Atlanta Cutlery & Museum Replicas". It's mint and has the certificate of authenticity. Someone wants to purchase it from me, but my issue is...WHAT IS IT WORTH? I know some would say, whatever I want for it and whatever someone is willing to pay, but heres the thing, I need a ballpark estimate. It can't be found on the internet anymore, it's definitely a collectors item. I know it has to have escalated in value a decent amount and with the movie coming out, it has to only gain in value...well I would like to think anyways. So there it is. Any constructive thoughts would be hugely appreciated. |

The Falchion katana? It went on clearance hella cheap at a lot of places at the end of it's days. I wish I would've got one. It might be back up to what it was originally now.

Thanks for the feed back guys. Hopefully I get a little bit more. The $300 is food for thought. I think it was $199 when I originally bought it. It's a cool sword.
Colder Soldier: Yeah the falcon handled katana. |

I used to think that was why it was called the Falchio/Falchion as well. I thought they did something cool in the Joe mythos and gave SE's favorite sword a name. Being bored at home on my night off, I just learned the design of the blade is called a "falchion". A named coined in medieval times coming from the french- "Fauchon" (name of some dude), and the latin- "falx" (sickle). This weapon combined the weight and power of an axe with the versatility of a sword.
Ya' learn something new everyday.

Probably $125-150. Although one sold recently for $375 but I seriously doubt you'll even be able to get $200.

You referring to this sword?
I paid $48 a piece for each one through Atlanta Cutlery. Since they were a limited run, the price can only go up. So I would say you could probably pull $150 for it now. Especially since it's his distinct sword not just from VvsV but his ARAH figure where it originated.. but easily broke. LOL I want to buy the Movie set as well, but when they were out I was broke. Haven't thought about them since.. but I may search for those tonight.

Shipwreck approached me and said he wanted to buy the sword. I had someone who said they would get back to me before shipwreck ever talked to me. I had been waiting two weeks to hear back from them. When he contacted me. I waited another week before replying to shipwreck and saying I could do it. In the mean time the other guy contacted me and said he would give me 300 for it. It was more than shipwreck. I e-mailed shipwreck a very honest e-mail. I was vulnerable and transparent. This sword is my favorite piece in my collection. For about six months my wife and I have lived paycheck to paycheck. Her birthday is coming up in march as well as the anniversary of when we got engaged. I've wanted to by her a ring she's wanted. Since it's been tough financially I've dug into my collection to find a way to love her. I've sold other things already. I shared this with ship and I said basically if this was going to mess up his life I would send it his way. I told him I'm not trying to get more money out of him, I just really need money and want to sell it to this other person. He wrote back two very strongly worded e-mails and left it in my ball court. Honestly, I'm overwhelmed with it all. I finally told him and the other buyer no go. I'm keeping the sword and going to figure out another way to do this for her.
I take responsibility for this. I could have have lied. I could have made up some baloney. I told him I want to have good repore with people and I do want to be honorable. I've never received an item and not paid through a trade or never received an item and not sent a trade back. I've always been timely and on point. Yes, I did fail you on this and it does seem that you are out to punish me to the best of your abilities and let everyone know how terrible I am. I've shared openly what I did. I'm not denying that I said yes then backed out. To those who would trade with me I did do this. I am overwhelmed. There's a lot to this that I'm not going to go into. Sometimes we have no idea what is happening in eachother's lives on a day to day experience and sometimes we need to give others some grace. I was not trying to be malicious, I did not steal. I'm not running from these complaints. I was wrong in not selling it. Fine. BAD TRADER FEEDBACK LIST WORTHY? Hardly. I didn't steal anything from him and I am taking responsibility for my decision here in a public thread. I did get his hopes up, as he says that this is his "UNICORN", and he's lost it in over 18 auctions. LODY's feedback about me is RIDICULOUS I have no idea what he is talking about. If I did something that he felt wronged for and it was legit to him I would take responsibility like I'm doing here. He said there has been problems with me in other places with regards to trading, but I'm not part of any other community except for the Tank. If I did do something that I'm not remembering, I'd love to here from him and try to work it out. So there it is. |

GI JOE Snake Eyes Sword Replica Sword was $159.99. It is clear to me that this incident in no way warrants a posting in the "bad trader" thread. The fact is that no money even exchanged hands. This was not a case where money was taken from an individual and nothing was sent in return. This is a situation where two parties entered into a non-binding agreement to a transaction and one party decided to back out. I had a loose agreement to purchase a vintage Voltron figure from a local seller for $50. As I was pulling out of my driveway the woman called me back and stated she did not wish to sell it any longer. Was I a little peeved? Sure. But what could I do? She had NO OBLIGATION to sell it to me WHATSOEVER. Justus Prime, I don't need any swords, but if you ever want to trade some ARAH figures, I'd be more than happy to see if we can work out a deal. Cheers.
