I can't wait to get the new o-ring figures from Longbow and Recall to bring them into my Joe world. Longbow might just be my Action Force/UK Joe equivalent. But I think Recall will fold right into Joe and Cobra.

I'm pretty much all down with the Sunbow romantic pairing ships. Flint/LJ, Cover Girl/Shipwreck (just needed one more episode to make it official, but its broke through in other media, its roots are always Sunbow), Falcon/Jinx, Destro/Baroness, Mainframe/Zarana, Pythona/Serpentor. Scarlett can hook up with Snake Eyes after Duke's death. Yeah, even as a kid, I didn't buy he went into a coma after a snake through the heart. Maybe Cobra tech could have saved him, but not Doc/Lifeline/GIJoe med units. And GIJoe the Movie and Transformers the Movie both mirror one another beat for beat, it was hard not to see Duke was supposed to die. Zarana/Destro is dumb in DIC and undercuts its ability to convincingly be a direct continuation of Sunbow.
CopperHead got sent to the DIC verse after that weapons misshap in Worlds Without End and he didn't realize it because its so similar. That, however, doesn't explain why he would say the Battle Armor is one of Cobra Commander's old uniforms. Since when, Copperhead? That is one bit of head canon I can't explain. But Worlds Without End does explain all the differences between Sunbow Joe and DIC Joe. Tiger Force Duke and his hair color issue, I thought he was a clone Dr. Mindbender made to use against GIJoe. That was my explanation as a kid. The unmasked Viper in Grey Hair and Growing Pains I always thought was supposed to be a proto version of Mercer. |

Unpopular opinion but Sgt. Slaughter. In the vintage line it bothered me that a wrestler was tossed in as a member of an elite special forces team. After 91 it bothered me that they just ignored his heel turn where they portrayed him as siding with Saddam.
Everytime I see them promoting him I thi k about that time the character supported the enemy while we were at war. Robert Remus seems like a great guy, but the character has been tainted for me. |

Worlds Without End leading to the creation of the DIC series is brilliant. It explains so much. |

Not much, but I can tell you one that I absolutely ignore. The awful retcon of Firefly into a ninja. I initially dipped out in 86 before TMNT started living rent free in Hasbro?s head and everyone became a ninja. Though I will say I wish they did more with the Destro/Lady Jaye connection from the cartoon. There?s stuff that could be done with that angle.

I do agree about the whole Destro and Lady Jaye being related. They never did anything with that outside of that particular episode.

I enjoyed the Jinx and Chuckles phenomenon in the Cobra series vs the Jinx and Falcon story which I really didn't celebrate being ignorant to it in my youth. I think the thing that really gets me is that post 9-11 Cobra isn't referred to as a terrorist organization. It was uniquely 80's. Which is crazy given how many terrorist situations occurred between the 70's and 80's.
