I did, and thank you so much. I worry at times about conveying tone on the Internet, so please understand that I mean that with complete sincerity. If people were not enjoying them and the other things that I have put out, I would not have the opportunity to keep doing it, so thank you for reading and enjoying them.
There are things in the pipeline, so more content will be coming. I will devote a good amount of time tomorrow toward Valaverse projects, and there are things being worked on that have left my hands and are in various stages of production. I am not privy to the timing on those now that my part is done, but I know that they are coming. |

Thanks for the update Wedge. It would be really interesting to know the process it takes to do one comic. Do you get given the story basis and write it or does it all come from you. What’s done first the illustrations or the story? Do you know the whole story line or are you just privy to it issue by issue?
It sounds like the perfect job. Is it? Also please do not kill off Condor the Brit. We need representation |

Does anyone know what is happening re wave 1 Action Force from Big Bad Toy Store? It is taking ages. When I ask them, they say they are waiting for the supplier but Valaverse say BBTS had their own cargo arrangements. Getting a bit frustrated not to have the figures in hand by now. Is anyone else feeling the same or is this standard?

Anyone able to share a photo of a Valaverse figure next to Classified and Articulated Icona figures for size reference?

Shishi - If you have a look at Valaverse on Instagram, there are lots of photos next to classified figures that will help you. Let us know what you think

It sounds like the perfect job. Is it? Also please do not kill off Condor the Brit. We need representation Initially, I was just asked to write some short introductory stories based around certain characters. In some cases, I was given some ideas that Bobby wanted to see. In others, I was just told to write a story about X. The degree to which there was some back and forth varied from issue to issue and character to character. In some cases, my scripts were rejected, and I started over. The script/story always comes first. A comic script is kind of an interesting hybrid. It is both a script with the dialogue like you would see for a play but also a description for the author. If you are sticking with the script analogy, then rather than stage directions, you have detailed instructions to the author about what you are envisioning for the panel/scene/page. Just how proscriptive or detailed these scripts are can vary and may be determined by the relationship between the author and artist. I have seen scripts that are very direct about what the author expects the artist to do, which I suppose leaves the artist little control. Other authors generally provide the vision and allow for a more collaborative process, where the artist has a lot more freedom. There is also the Marvel Process, which I believe was established by Stan Lee and Kirby and Ditko (I think there was one more famous artist in-house at the time, but I am blanking on the name). After the script is approved by the editor, it goes to the artist. He or she may then communicate with the author if something is unclear. Once the art is done (which may have different people doing the line art, inks, and colors), it gets lettered. |

That is so interesting Wedge and a great insight thank you. It is a masterstroke idea to have the comics along with the toy line. I grew up with Battle Action Force here in the Uk and have recently bought most of the issues. I reread them and it sets my imagination off again. It is funny because you think comics would stop the imagination and kids would just recreate scenes. With me the comic provided a platform and my imagination did the rest.
It is really great to have access to you Wedge. So interested in what you do. Get those issues sorted and keep them coming I love them. |

I should really pick up some of the comics. As others have mentioned, my preference is also for print, but if there is no word on a collection coming I may just have to go the digital route.
When it comes to the figures, I'm torn. I've held off on picking any of them up, but came close a bunch of times. If I start, I won't be able to stop. The completionist in me will take over. I don't like the strong reuse of parts. Not that I have anything against part reuse, but the reuse isn't clever enough for me. It is very obviously the same parts on multiple figures with very little variation. I dig the Swarm, as I like that sci-fi vibe. Maybe I'll pick some up if the Swarm get rereleases in the future. |
