If it helps any I asked Brian Savage about buying the name rights off of him and he said he wouldn’t sell it but I fell like if the name isn’t used then that would free the name up for TM purposes

As many of you may know, the popular(?) YouTuber HoodedCobraCommander788 is intending to attend JoeFest 2022, and has started a GoFundMe to pay for travel expenses. He plans to go with his daughter, apparently, which is very cool. (Even if, as portrayed to me by one HissTank member, the convention might not be the most appropriate place for a young woman*.)
Now, some of HCC788's viewers found his soliciting of funds to be "tacky", "petty", "pathetic" and/or "very cringe" (particularly "during a pandemic"). Perhaps best summed up by this comment: "shameful to beg on you tube just to go to a dumb toy show". However, on the other hand, HCC788 has been battling a series of personal "challenges" in recent years. Plus, he's only asking for $2000, nowhere near enough to cover the entire trip, and "a small price to pay for all the joy 'Hoodie' brings" (at least according to one of his supporters). At the time of this posting (1:59 AM EST), he has raised $1407. https://www.gofundme.com/f/hcc788s-r...ource=customer * Or any woman, actually.

But I was there last year with my dad and there were many families there with children. Nothing inappropriate. I did not partake of any late niggt stuff. Not that type and I don’t drink. Although girls toys are not plentiful, I did find some gifts for my daughter. Definitely the daughter of HCC would enjoy joes. |

Yeah, I've brought my son before with me. Just don't ever let your kids into a parachute drop because they will get trampled by nerds who needs toys more than kids do. However Joefest doesn't do those.
I thought it was in very bad taste when HCC788 asked for hand outs to go. I've hung out with him and I think he's a really good guy. However if people have money to help someone there are much better causes than getting someone to a toy show.

I've been to every JoeFest and a few JoeCons prior to that. JoeFest is awesome. Downtown Augusta....great food and lots of local places to eat. You are within walking distance of lots of things and a short drive to nearly anything. Yes, it's June in Georgia so it's hot and sometimes really hot.
JoeFest itself is great. Pretty much anything you could want is there Joe related and otherwise. I've met lots of people off of FB groups and other forums and last year got to meet Turner from Hisstank so that was awesome. Lots of custom parts available too. Yes the hotel and travel cost but I just accept that and enjoy. Who knows how long they will keep doing these. Might as well enjoy while you can if you are able.

I was lucky enough to get some fantastic people, many of whom hang around here, to write some essays that I could collect and lightly edit. I am proud of how it turned out, and I think the authors did a wonderful job of capturing the magic and fun of conventions like JoeCon and JoeFest.
I very much enjoyed the read. My first and only Joecon was the last one. All the others didn't work out for one reason or another (amazing how life works that way) but now it makes me wish I had gone to more of them. |

I am sorry about that. I will see if I can clear a slot tomorrow, but feel free to email me at [email protected] if I do not.
