I’ve been to two joefests, I like to go, like to dig through stuff, look for parts for a custom etc. You can find (at some tables) prices better than ebay, but really, by the time you pay to get in, pay for hotel, for food, for travel, you could pretty much buy the stuff from eBay for less money. Probably for a third the money or less depending on your travel cost.

As others have said, JoeCon is no longer.
If you want to read about the experience, I will shamelessly plug this (in my opinion) great book about it: https://www.amazon.com/Joy-JoeCon-Bi.../dp/B085RRT9Q6 |

I enjoyed putting it together. It was kind of a companion piece to The Joy of Joe, which is also available on Amazon. The Joy of JoeCon is a nice trip down memory lane for those who attended or a great way to see what it was about if you were unable to go.

JoeFest is the convention that I now hear everyone talking about since JoeCon is no more. I have not been but the way people are talking is that JoeFest is probably the closest thing now to what we used to get. It is a recent thing as it looks like this year is only it's 5th year. I believe it is always in Augusta, Georgia, in the month of June every year.

I've done two years of Joefest and one year of Toylanta. I can't recommend them enough. I never got to do a real JoeCon, but, in my experience, toy cons are the absolute best and most affordable way to grow a collection. You get to negotiate and trade, and I absolutely eat that up. There's no way on Earth that I would have even gotten my o-ring collection to its current state without the cons.

I've been to every JoeFest and a few JoeCons prior to that. JoeFest is awesome. Downtown Augusta....great food and lots of local places to eat. You are within walking distance of lots of things and a short drive to nearly anything. Yes, it's June in Georgia so it's hot and sometimes really hot.
JoeFest itself is great. Pretty much anything you could want is there Joe related and otherwise. I've met lots of people off of FB groups and other forums and last year got to meet Turner from Hisstank so that was awesome. Lots of custom parts available too. Yes the hotel and travel cost but I just accept that and enjoy. Who knows how long they will keep doing these. Might as well enjoy while you can if you are able.

And afterwards we would get together and get wings and margaritas at a little joint called, Tallywackers.
