It is not a bad place to go for info and chat about joes. I have been here for a while and just like in real life if you hang around a place long enough you will meet all sorts of people. Sometimes it is bad and sometimes it is good. For the most part it has been decent.

In that case, my apologies for being so abrasive; Truth be told (and no offense meant), I had just read the ValaVerse thread, so I took your commentary and applied that tone.

I've visited HT regularly since it first launched but only really started posting during covid. Some conversations go off the rails from time to time and you'll certainly see someone make an ass of themselves here or there, but unlike most FB groups I find it much easier to ignore posts or content you don't care about by just not clicking on the thread. I feel like modern social media feed-based UIs and algorithms seem to encourage rage-baiting, and I don't experience quite as much of that here. And I agree fully with what others above have stated about the ht community being up-to-date, well informed, welcoming, and generally eager to help.
That said, and not yet mentioned above, there's also a discord server that I believe was started by Shockwave and some other folks here about a year ago, but I haven't paid much attention to it in months.

Pretty sure Hisstank is the biggest forum. Sites like this are slowing dying - forums are vestiges of Web 1.0
Social media has really killed off these types of forums which is a shame. I hate the centralized nature of the internet today, I miss the old early 2000s - it was really the wild west - a ton of great fan sites for joe customs, dios, reviews etc. From a user interface perspective the forum architecture is much more logical and easy to navigate than just scrolling down a facebook page or through a reddit thread as well. End rant. |

This is the only one I still regularly visit.
I used to go to Generals Joes and Joebattlelines for reviews but Joebattlelines forum is gone. Generals Joes was reborn, but it isn't a forum. I still post customs on Serpentorslair and OG13 and people do post there. Serpentor's lair has a Joe section that still has postings regularly. I used to be a contributor on yojoe.com when I still collected O-ring. I contributed regularly in the reviews and provided Canadian Joe content (ie. Canadian vehicle catalogues and offers). I do miss the good old days, but glad that Hisstank is still going strong. At least there's one forum I can continue using.

do u guys remember the old Army building battle website? I think its offline now but I remember members would submit pictures of there massive cobra armys. that site was so cool and I wish it still existed. this was way back in maybe 2005-2006. also there was a hardcore member who made some really badass DIORAMAS with very cool storys to. I cant recall the name of it but it was very top notch stuff and I still havent seen anything like it since.

I like having everything on Facebook, it's just hard to follow posts and conversations. But I prefer it to going to 6 forums every morning to see what's going on. Plus, it's the best way to get a heads-up out pre-orders or when something's back in stock.
