In keeping with identifying the individual MOS in the Joes, I only know of two Army SF/Green Berets.
LT Falcon WO Flint Note that Rangers are not SF. These are just Green Berets. Is there anyone else???? |

Duke. Roadblock if you go by comic canon as he's introduced as pals with Duke and also knows Flint from pre-Joe days when Flint's introduced. Stalker's been cited as a potential Green Beret in the What Secrets Lurk in the Filecards thread where this has been discussed.

The 2011 version of Claymore had the US Special Forces symbol on his t-shirt. But no mention of an SF qualification in his original ‘86 filecard. So that one’s open to debate.
Duke for sure. Stalkers’ green beret was likely a factory error? He was Ranger qualified (black beret in ‘82) and the cardart showed a camo beret. But then again, filecard bios changed over the years - Shipwreck was a sailor only in ‘85, but a Navy SEAL in the ‘90’s, so the lines can be easily blurred. Didn't Snake Eyes have a green beret on at Kwinn's funeral? Can't remember for sure, but I remember as a kid thinking how cool that looked lol.

I feel like we already had this thread...or something very similar.
But yeah, confirmed Green Berets would be: Duke Falcon Flint "Likely" Green Berets: Claymore (The Joe Club version was explicitly noted as such, though the original version seems to be more a nod to the real-world "Delta Force" who are NOT always or even often Green Berets). Stalker (Yes, his specialty says "Ranger" but his filecard (and hat) practically screams "One Man Special Forces Team" and it's quite common for Special Forces operators to have both tabs) Possible Green Berets (or who have been shown as SF in some adaptations): Snake-Eyes Roadblock Recondo (At least in the Hama comics, where he tended to travel to jungle areas and liaise with the locals, the latter of which is kinda Special Forces whole original purpose). Storm Shadow (As goes Stalker and Snake-Eyes, so often goes Storm Shadow, though I will freely admit this is a LOT more shaky than any of the others) |

So Duke, Falcon, Flint, and Claymore. Got it.
Going to Ranger School doesn't make you a Ranger. You have to be assigned to the Ranger Regiment and have the Ranger Scroll. At least that is what I have read. Recondo is a Marine so he def would not be SF/Green Beret. Stalker is a Ranger. His beret is the wrong color. Back in the 80s it used to be black, now Ranger Berets are tan. Pat Tillman was a Ranger. No comment on Storm Shadow. Silly.... |

Don't forget Gen. Joe Colton.
And I'm pretty sure Redondo is Army. |

Again, that depends entirely on which interpretation you're reading/watching/whatever.
They were Long Range Recon Patrol in the Hama comics, which was eventually folded into the Ranger Regiment. They've been Special Forces in some more recent interpretations. GI Joe is not static, and it is not always consistent between incarnations. Quote:

My overarching point is that in many cases it's impossible for the filecards to tell the whole story. They certainly don't account for every assignment and unit that their individual members have been in. Sometimes it's not even clear if some Joes were even in the military at all before they joined the Joe team. Sometimes they reference training and schools that haven't existed for decades or never existed at all. Sometimes you have to read between the lines. |

That's not true. They could have people who came from a Ranger Regiment and joined the Joes. You can go to Ranger school and get a Ranger tab but unless you're assigned to a Ranger Regiment at some point, you're not a Ranger. So Falcon, Duke, and anyone else who was previously assigned to a Ranger Regiment would be considered a Ranger. Recondo wouldn't because as a Marine, he could never be assigned to the Regiment but he could still be Ranger qualified because they do open the training up to other services.
