Recondo is Army, not Marines. Recondo from RECON COMMANDO, which was an Army thing in Vietnam and Recondo School is now the US Army's Jungle Warfare School.

Duke Flint Falcon Drop Zone (Special Forces Advisor) Sgt Stone (from RoC, Special Forces Commando) Can strongly make a case for: Stalker (medic and intelligence training. Also speaks four languages) Snake-Eyes (his skills sound more Navy Seals but can make a case for underwater demolitions by having him serve as a Special Forces Engineering Sgt assigned to a SCUBA A-Team) Breaker (Project Gamma listed on his file card) Claymore Recondo (has intelligence listed on his file card which means he may have made it to a Special Forces Intelligence and Operations Sgt. Plus the way he is depicted in the comics as working with indigenous forces) Airwave, Static Line and Airborne v2. All of these Joes are military free fall qualified (which not many mos's or units can attend this school. And they have specific skills geared toward the Special Forces: comms, demolitions and medic respectively). Ripcord (because of his military free fall training and demolitions. Could be a Special Forces Engineering Sgt). Sidetrack v2 (because his skills read like Stalker's) |

On my modern take on the Joes I envision Stalker and Snake-Eyes both serving on the 75th Ranger Regimental Reconnaissance Company. I believe this requires them to pass Ranger School. They would have also gone through military free fall training. They would have been assigned to a six man recon team (along with Storm Shadow and the three others from the comics). Later they both went Special Forces and Stalker got assigned to a HALO or Mountain A-Team (maybe to make a case for his Tundra version. I believe soldiers in a mountain team are more likely to attend cold weather training). Later he would have made it to a Special Forces Assistant Operations and Intelligence Sgt (to account for his intelligence training). Snake-Eyes would have been assigned to a SCUBA A-Team to account for his underwater training on his original file card.
Later they would cross paths when both tried out for the Joe team. |

Duke Flint Falcon Claymore Drop Zone is an SF Advisor, that's a Brown Beret, not Green. https://taskandpurpose.com/community...s%20absolutely... I misspoke on Recondo but def not a Green Beret. That's just a school, not SF. All of the other skills are just schools, you can have all of those without being a SF/GB. HALO, Mountain, Intelligence school, etc. Unless you graduated SF school, you are not SF and the only 4 are the aforementioned above. Stalker is not a GB/SF. I mean, his toy is literally billed as "RANGER" on the front side of the toy packaging...lol... |

And Joe Colton! This is established on his file cards and the comics.

And my understanding is military free fall training is only available for certain units (such as the 75th RRC and Delta) along with certain MOS's (18 series). The average Infantry soldier would not be permitted as their units would not partake in such insertions into combat. This is how I justify the MFF-qualified Joes. |

https://taskandpurpose.com/community...s%20absolutely The modern concept is the same but they no longer only draw from only SF for the roles. |

Stalker's Ranger can also mean Ranger-qualified meaning he went to Ranger School. I justify him being Special Forces because of his varied skills. After serving in the 75th RRC he could have gone Special Forces and became a Special Forces Medical Sgt (medic SMS) and also learned a few languages (which is more in line with SF than an average 75th Ranger would need or train for). Then later on he becomes a Special Forces Assistant Operations and Intelligence Sgt (to justify his intelligence training). In a real world perspective it is how I myself can justify his varied training.
