However, when you take into account the lengths that Hasbro has gone to avoid addressing this version of C.C. status, the fact it's been seven years since a figure of the hooded C.C. been released, (three years since he's appeared on merchandise,) and when you consider that not only will Hasbro apparatchiks not speak on the issue, but will blatantly lie, (oh I wasn't suppose to say that,) and say that Hasbro has officially addressed the issue,(knowing that they haven't,) when the hooded COBRA Commander suddenly pops up prominently featured in a Hasbro ad campaign, (where the premise of the campaign is built around Easter eggs,) the first thing dudes are going to wonder and ask "is the hooded COBRA Commander finally off punishment?" Personally, I think he slipped through, but then again you shouldn't be surprised to know that utilizing the hooded C.C. was intentional.

Fred was talking as an unlock with hooded CC for the HasLab. But I agree. Do this as an SDCC Ex like the last one and toss in a couple of figures (possibly said hooded CC), and it would easily generate a Serpentor level of interest, likely at the same pricepoint.

Yes. That was my point about the Rancor HasLab (one of the unlocks there was a cardboard display of the pit background. They could theoretically do that here and scale it up as an SDCC/PulseCon exclusive. It'd be pretty big though (look at the size compared to the 3 3/4" figures), and require a bit of shelf space. I'm not sure we'd get the "balcony" piece as that'd have to support the weight of a classified figure, unless maybe they upgraded bits of it to plastic?

Suggestion? Or more likely request, Falcon and Stalker in the Walmart retro line up. More classic colors. Thanks Emily

Truth is I think the property is being midmanaged and I think it needs a bit of an update. I think they need to stop with all of the special teams like:
Night Force Tiger Force Spy Troops etc... I think they need a couple of new characters. They were smart enough to add Falcon as a new character in 1987 and he is now a staple. I think they would do well to have a contest where a fan gets to design a new character including writing the file card and codename and real name. I think Hasbro is dropping the ball on this. I also think the idea that Transformers and the Joes are potentially gonna be in a movie is gonna fall flat. The last 2 Joe movies were in a word, TERRIBLE. They are going to drag their feet and any inertia this brand has is gonna die like Star Wars. Time to strike while the iron is still warm. A new character or two, an animated series, getting an outside person to consult, anything....because what they are doing is failing.... |

Being that the tooling is available and these figures are simple kitbashes, (where two of mentioned figures only need portraits sculpted.) You guys should do QUICK KICK, SHIPWRECK, TORPEDO, WET-SUIT and the EELs in BDU.

FALCON is gettin' his "mulligan," in the Classified Series I can't stress to Lenny and his sculptors that they give FALCON an age appropriate face. FALCON is in his mid to late 20's. If you guys need a point of reference DUSTY and GRUNT look to be to in their mid to late 20's. Back when the brew ha ha with FALCON, Brett, (at least I think it was Brett did the touch up on this,) showed what FALCON should look like. Actually, it would be dope if you guys got with legal worked out the particulars and used Carson Mataxis. If anybody is worthy of having his face on a figure, it's Carson.

i'd like people who are interested in the product to sell the product. there are so many emilys floating around hasbro that when i saw the o-ring ghostbusters and emily i immediately thought about the one who works on classfied and said she's not interested in o-ring figures and just wants the 6" stuff(im paraphrasing).
there was no excitement out of whoever was showing those figures and ecto 1 off. fortunately the toys spoke for themselves, but jesus. and there hasnt been any updates about the o-ring ghostbusters since. is it still happening? is it part of something else? what's going on? the movie is out of theaters now. toys are clearancing out. what's the motivation here? |
