I say this as someone who failed making it as a comic book artist, having only worked at the semi-semi-semi professional level a decade ago...

Every week I post a new drawing of a GI Joe character. It will never get me a job, and pretty much only people here see them. But I still do them. The creative process is rewarding in and of itself.

Try writing a few pages and see what happens. Sit down for an hour and see how much of a script/outline you can create. Just an hour. If that's too much, try 20 minutes.

There's not much shame around "fan fiction" anymore, because much of it is better than what studios/publishers are "officially" creating.

You obviously have an affinity for Zarana and Zandar. Create something.

Sounds like Lenny makes the decisions, so you need to appeal to him, personally. If he doesn't like Zandar, for whatever reason, though... we're not likely to get him any time soon. Not unless you do a petition and get thousands of signatures. That'll show Hasbro there is a demand for a Zandar figure.

I don't see the Classified line ever giving you what you want because as someone pointed out, there is no story in Classified. So there would be no way for them to tell everyone that Zarana and Zandar are brother and sister or connected at all.

All they do is make a figure and put a name and artwork on the package. They don't even have filecards or give a specialty like the packaging used to on front.

Even Tomax and Xamot are being released in separate packages.

I think you should be grateful that Zarana is getting made this early, ahead of much more popular characters. (and I kinda feel that she will pegwarm just like Lady Jaye does).

I support your initiative to get Zandar some love, and definitely see the value in making that canon. If I was in charge, I?d make Zandar (one of? the first?) an officially LGBT+ character as well.

That said, I also agree with Clockwise. Canon matters hugely, but it?s not exhaustive of what matters. Fan canon and fan culture can be very rewarding things too, and in a lot of cases, making up our own stories about Joe can be highly rewarding all on its own. (For a lot of us, making up stories as we played with our toys was the whole reason we got into Joe, after all!) That doesn?t prove that you?d enjoy it or find value in it, but it sounds like you might have negative, almost contemptuous attitudes toward fan stuff rather than just indifference towards it, and if so, imo it?s very possible you?re missing out.

I?m not proposing that you?d get millions of views a day or, necessarily, change the world or your life by writing a story. But maybe consider whether it could rewarding, rather than just whether it?s “important”?
