Hi all, I was hoping someone could help me with number translations into inch sizes. For example, I figured out that 1:6 translates into 12 inch. So I’m trying to figure out the rest, like what does 1:9, 1:10, (and so on and so forth) translate to in inches?

Take however many inches the thing is at full size. Divide it by the second number. It's not that complicated.

To be fair lots of 6 in scale don't actually do the math. Scales are more "ballpark" measurements when it comes to figures between different lines.

1/6 means 1 to 6 so 1 foot = 6 feet. So average guy is 6 foot, so 1 foot toy or 12". So then 1/12 means 1 inch = 12 inches therefore 6" figure for 6 foot again. 1/18 for 6 foot is 4". 18*4 = 72 which is again 6 feet. I think vintage toys were scaled at 3.75 more so they fit in vehicles...but could be wrong there.

1:18 - 72/18 = 4 inches 1:12 - 72/12 = 6 inches 1:11 - 72/11 = 6.5 inches (approx) 1:10 - 72/10 = 7.2 inches
