I had no idea until yesterday Ozzie92 had talked to Hama for her and asked for this. That's a big deal for Hama to do that. Nobody else has been given that sort of "gift" in the lore.
In the past, I've viewed these threads with a range of emotions between sympathy and frustration, especially in the light of her self-admitted mental health issues, but in finding out this new information, I have zero empathy for her plight anymore. She knows full well that what Hama did is give her what she asked for, and now she uses it to try and convince people "it's always been that way". What she's doing isn't just wasting people's time, it's willfully manipulative, disingenuous and incredibly ungrateful to Hama and anyone else in the community who has been willing to entertain her ideas.

Well, I'd say you're overreacting, but that's your prerogative. Just so long as you don't start attacking her. She has just as much a right to do her fan-thing as you do yours. On stuff like this, the ignore list comes in handy. So does the built-in natural "ignore list" where a person simply avoids things they don't dig.
It's not overreacting, it's calling a spade a spade. |

Her fan thing is an attempt to dictate what things should be to other people with constant repetition using a combination of misinformation and *willfully* manipulating the generally good nature of the people in this community by playing the victim. That's an act of bad faith that needs calling out.
It's not overreacting, it's calling a spade a spade. Feeling the need to "call out" someone over their obsession on a forum full of obsession is overreacting. Spades, shovels, scoops...they all do the same thing.

you dont see anyone else making that many threads or taking wikipedia edits as a personal attack and think "nah, everyone's obsessed here." there's absolutely something wrong and it sucks that this nonsense is still going on. Last edited by THEDARKONE508; 11-15-2022 at 12:39 PM.. |

You see it that way, and maybe others do too, but most just see another fan being a fan. This is all silly shit, and one bit of silly shit isn't somehow more silly than all the other silly shit here.

lol There's no real respect here! This is a collection of grown people talking about kid's toys from their childhood (often as if they're real people), discussing the same things over and over and over for at least 20 years now, alternately scalping each other on toy sales and endlessly insulting each other over inconsequential nothing. If we can't accept this whole thing is a fucked-up obsession, and not one of us is "better" than another in that regard, we're calling spades "roses".
