GI Joe used the Sub-team idea to keep the brand going and give us tons of repaints of a lot of characters. Some were hits and there were defiantly a lot of misses. Some never made sense to me. Example- Why was Frostbite on TigerForce? So Lets play a game. We are command and were putting Together these sub-teams..whos on them?
D.E.F Tigerforce Eco-squad Sky Patrol Marauders Ninja Force I'll start : D.E.F ****** Shockblast Bullet-Proof Surefire Long Arm Mace Widescope BullHorn Sherlock-(new character) Barricade ECO-Warriors ******* Barbecue Torch Charbroil Cleansweep Airtight Ozone

"Sometimes people mistakenly believe that Tiger Force is a jungle operations team, but that is incorrect. They fight in all climates, and as mentioned in the television commercial, their gimmick was to repaint captured COBRA vehicles for use in the Tiger Force, and as explained in part of their mission statement on the packaging: "...COBRA has set up a network of power bases that will simultaneously attack key cities around the globe. It will take the combined skills of the TIGER FORCE team to hunt down these hidden bases and disable them..." For that reason, G.I. Joe team members such as Blizzard or Frostbite might go on arctic missions to attack some of those hidden bases using a half-track vehicle like the Tiger Cat."

[QUOTE=Playful;5450306]You really should tune in to Mainframe77's thread, known as "Your Daily Joe....." because we were just discussing exactly that yesterday on HissTank, when I had shared this:

Thats all well and good. But the majority of the team, short sleeves etc..but lets focus on the color scheme...For arctic combat????

You're right. It's not exactly the best color scheme for arctic combat, but the G.I. Joe team has already worked out a white camouflage paint job for the Snow Cat/Wolf Hound vehicle.
The Tiger Cat color scheme might be more helpful on a mission if the Tiger Force were attacking COBRA forces with a mixed strike team using both Joe and Cobra vehicle types... and they certainly wouldn't want "friendly fire" to mistake them for a Cobra Basilisk.

You wanna talk about sub-teams not making sense, how's about a firefighter, sniper, infantryman, dog-handler and k9, drill instructor and an Indian scout on a team of armoured vehicles and no armoured vehicle drivers.
D.E.F Shockwave, Bulletproof, Mace, Barricade, Bullhorn Tiger Force Eco-squad Airtight, Barbecue, Clean-Sweep, Ozone (because why wouldn't you have your HOSTILE ENVIRONMENT SPECIALIST on the team?!) Sky Patrol Freefall, Ripcord, Airwave, Altitude, Airborne II, Skydive, Static-Line, Drop Zone Marauders As an armoured unit: Steeler, Cover Girl, Heavy Metal, Cross Country Ninja Force Ninja what now? This isn't some comic book. This is modern warfare! |
