I had this stuff as a kid as well. I have moments when I sit and remember hanging out with my friends making forts in the sandbox but then move on. Seems sometimes for some it goes deeper though almost a unhealthy deep in some cases. It does sometimes get frustrating if you cant find something on the shelf but I am just not sure if I would go as far as saying that being a fan is hard. If it got to that point that it is bothering me that much I probably would say screw it and get rid of everything.

I think it goes deeper than just being a toy brand for some people. Bonding with things when you're a kid creates lifelong loves. I was six in 1977 when Star Wars came out, I have a lifelong love of the IP and am just happy to have new content. I was 11 in 1982 when ARAH hit and I love it but I just don't have the same Star Wars bond.

I grew up on GI Joe and I look at this weird resurgence as a happy surprise. I sold off nearly all of a pretty awesome 25th and later collection because I want to consciously limit my collection.
Life can be tough, GI JOE is a nice escape from that. |

I am considering selling my Joe Vs Cobra thru 50th anniversary collection. I don't keep up on such things. Is the market for past items up or down? Do I sell as one huge lot - or do I take the time to piecemeal it?

Being a 1/18 collector, I pretty much have everything I want. What bums me out more is the lack of a new animated series. A new graphic novel series would also be nice.

The market is up on ARAH and POC-later, so-so on new sculpt and pre-POC, depends on what you've got. If you decide to part it out, hit me up on any of the 2000-04 o-ring repaints , as the sig suggests, I'm always buying.

The figures are fine, but I'm kind of bored with that, honestly. Without an active energized media and growing fanbase, toys just feel kind of superfluous.

I think COVID created a seller's market...a few more months of this economy and it will be a buyer's.

Being a 1/18 fan though is great. I’m starting to think Hasbro should follow Marauders lead and just do kickstarters.

Well I'm just glad they're not churning out garbage left and right, like Marvel Legends. Less is more. We remember the early 2000's, Spy Troops and Valor vs Venom. It was a mess, for the most part. There were a few gems.
