The month of May also had some of the best Marvel ARAH covers, including great intros for the Polar Battle Bear and the Devilfish, and more.

![]() One more. I've never ranked my favorite Marvel ARAH covers, but this one would be a top contender. The '83s are special to me, as much as I loved the OGs, and this cover sums up a lot of great snow days from my childhood. I don't know much about Mr. Camp, but I'm grateful that this was how he drew the cover. (Seems like this issue had a cool TV commercial, too.)

The APC was a surprisingly fantastic toy that took loads of abuse and kept rolling.

Childhood memory -- I can vividly remember seeing the animated ad for that issue #11 on tv as a wee little lad! I think it tied into the brand-new wave of '83 figures that were just hitting stores that February/March. First comic appearance of Airborne, Gung-Ho, Doc, Snow Job and Wild Bill. I was still a good 6 or 7 months away from getting my very first Joe toys though at this point (Return of the Jedi was king in my life that spring and summer of '83 and Joes would have to wait until the fall for me to get into lol).

I love the shot of Destro's silhouette in the doorway!

It was a great way to build suspense for his full intro three issues later, too.
