I am there with you. Despite obvious issues, I enjoyed getting the monthly newsletter, looking forward to the exclusives, and the reveal of the convention sets. The FSS was a highlight for me and I am glad I subscribed to all.

Anyone who says they don't miss the Club is a liar.

I never knew the club existed until after it was already gone. Which, is a shame. I have been slowly picking up the con sets piece by piece and sometimes as a whole over the last year. It's expensive work but some of those figures are just too cool.
Just wish I had known about it. I would have loved to have gone in person. |

I cant miss the Club, when I was getting back into GI Joe they was a year away or more of shutting shop, that an being on the other side of the pond it was far more even more expensive with international shipping customs and stuff ontop or pop to the next Joecon convention. Sucks really, I do like their stuff they pumped out, well most of it, have a good few bits now, but still looking for more… what I will say though, some of them loose figure FSS prices people make up on eBay etc are a complete joke, carded, moc card sure, but not open products. Still, theres also affordable club stuff too of course!

I guess it depends. If they're charging the same as MOC, sure that's kind ridiculous...unless people are willing to pay it. The bottom line is that even if it's loose/complete the Club stuff is still relatively rare product compared to almost any Hasbro-produced stuff. Even loose FSS figures are probably still worth a pretty penny to the folks that are looking for them.

I don't miss them. If you got into gi joe in the late 80s, you found that all the characters you had as a kid where given to the club instead of a mass market release. They were more expensive Frankenjoes that resembled your original joes if you squinted enough. For example my first joe was fast draw. His release had blowtorches mask and chest and dukes rocket system. Gone was the cool padded suit, and unique missile system. It just seemed lazy for the price they wanted for it.

A mass release means more money for tooling. All of these you mentioned were mass releases in the original line. Would a wolverine with cover girl sell? How about a bridge layer with tollbooth? There was a law and order that came out in the renegades line and sold just fine. The line had many of their popular later characters removed from the reach of normal consumers to be placed in a price prohibited subscription service model and the line died at retail. The availability and future of gi joe in retail was sacrificed to this subscription service, and we have lived with the consequences of that decision since 2016.
