Today I wanna see what people think about the Persuader
As a kid, almost all of my friends (or in my case, my brother) had this vehicle. It must have been constantly on sale or something. It stayed in the toy bin. Back Stop with his pistol and an accessory pack helmet got played with a lot, but that vehicle, oh man, nobody wanted to play with it. Back Stop's helmet split at the front seam pretty much right away. Looking at it, it's sort of a bad HISS tank. It's an ugly wedge shape, has the kill-me seat in the turret, and the guns are some nondescript sci-fi weapon, but the vehicle colors are very military. The "windshield" spot is just molded green. How does he see? It would have been a durable vehicle if they had given it dogbone missile mounts like every other vehicle, but the missile tabs would break easily because it was ABS on ABS. The way the cannon was held in place sucked too, that middle tab often snapped off. Come on, give me your praise or slander of the Persuader, or do you agree that this thing was a turd?

I actually liked the persuader, flaws and all. I actually had a couple of em and Falcon and stalker drove one then backstop and blaster rocked the other.

I never had it, I was out of vehicles at that point, but it looks like it had potential. The main laser weapon looks kind of cheap, like something you'd see on a "The Corps" tank. But overall it's not terrible.

I was getting out of vehicles then myself. The vehicle line up that year made it easy. I was still cherry picking figures though. I really liked Backstop and the funny looking tank was green so it was one of the closest to a real military vehicle in the line up that year. Backstop and the drab green was the only reason I got the thing.

Today I learned that Back-stop is named after the things hockey pucks bounce off of around/behind the goalie? Man, that is silly, even for GI Joe.

I don't think any of my friends had one but some how a backstop ended up in our pile.
It's a stupid looking tank and backstop sucks. |

As a kid I thought it was a part of Battle Force 2000. As an adult, I learned that it wasn't, but I still think it should be.
It was originally designed to be the Cobra Wedge, and it would have been dark red. |

Brusk, but I can't disagree.

It's actually better than anything BF2000 had. Well, I never had the vector jet or marauder, so I can't speak to those.

I could see Hasbro taking some cues from the Persuader though if they want to do classified tank because they've mentioned that treads ake tanks really expensive at this scale.
