What is the demographic of the joe fanbase? Are you guys young and became fans because of some of the more modern joe media like classified and Renegades? Became fans in the 90's at the tail end of it? Or old school and watched it in the 80's all the way into the 90's when it was in its prime and then ended. Hell, anyone do the 12 inch old school from the 70's?

Was a mix of getting the first two 5 packs of the 25th as a kid and watching some of the cartoon/playing some games Hasbro had up at the time, and then RoC reminding me Joe was a thing that existed, and looking into my uncle's old collection

Oldish bastard here. I was introduced in '85, stayed with it until the end of the first run, and came back in '00.

I would actually be interested in how close we could come to developing a program that could predict a person's age down to the quarter of the year solely based on asking them a short list of questions about their preference in 80's/early 90's era G.I. Joes.

I'm sorry, I guess I must be really tired, because I'm not quite following this sentence? To choose this option, do I have to agree with the opinion (about the quality)?
At any rate, went with "I collect toys and really have no idea of the joe fanbase"*, since over 95% of my collection has nothing to do with G.I. Joe. * Even though I'm not 100% sure I understand what that means either, actually.

eh everybody's a critic.
Your over analyzing. It was some dumb comment behind it. If you came into during the 2000 period when joe fanbase is dangling by a thread and became a fan that is the option you pick. The last one is if your really have no idea about the fan base and the story as a whole but just buy the toys because they are cool. Quote:

Long gone were my toy collecting days, but I was in a Target when I stumbled upon those 5-packs (and subsequently this forum). I said to my wife, "You remember when we first met and I collected those (McFarlane) toys that creeped you out? Well, I've got it way worse for GI Joe... <present boxes> and it looks like they're back!" Quote:
I've noticed some subtle differences, but it seems pretty universal for the most part. |
