I don't think having Adventure Team stories precludes continuing the ARAH stuff. Hell, ARAH had a lot of sci-fi elements. My son and I love ARAH, Resolute, and Renegades but for those who are maybe a little tired of war, having their favorite characters go on fun adventures would be cool too. I just retired after 21 years in the military, most of which was spent at war, and I still love the Joe vs Cobra stuff but I'd kill to see some Joes go on some fun adventures that didn't directly involve Cobra. To me, Adventure team missions don't detract from ARAH at all, they add to it.
You could actually take ARAH characters and just use them as the adventure team members. (Snowjob, Dusty, Avalanche, Recondo, Alpine, Frostbite, Tunnel Rat, Outback, etc)It could just be marketed as different tiers of the property. GI Joe: Adventure Team for the little kids, GI Joe: Special Missions for the older kids where you bring in Cobra and the more militarized aspect. I was in the Army a lifetime ago and my kids never shied away from ARAH Joe, but not all parents or kids are the same. The AT stuff could be simpler toys for smaller kids. More like a MEGO style. More universal fun and lessons. Less story and character driven.

I think the adventure team for kids would make a great cartoon or even all ages comic book and would bring more kids to the brand. I agree with that. I think it could be geared towards fans of all ages. Just change up the kinds of adventures. My kids don't shy away either but for me, I'd just like to see some of the fun stuff. ARAH can be more than it currently is. There are ways to expand the brand and attract younger and older fans. I think they could keep fans engaged with some new ideas and they don't need to rebrand or change anything, just add to it. That's all I'm trying to say. I honestly think that everyone can get what they want here.

Agreed. Joe has a lot to offer. Unfortunately, it seems like the people with the hand on the wheel don't really see it, or don't have much interest in pursuing it.

Yeah, it's a bit depressing that they aren't putting some thought and effort into keeping the brand alive.

I really do like the idea of having an Adventure Team cartoon aimed at kids though. That would be a great way to introduce them to the brand.

Yeah, it's a real shame. Both my boys kind of moved on from it. They still dig Resolute and Renegades and think of them fondly. My oldest even really dug the IDW Cobra minis I suggested he read a few years back. (They're now 19 and 13) However, They've got their FPS now and dig movies like The Expendables, Bourne, Bond, and MI. All stuff Joe should be able to work with when it comes to staying relevant for older kids. Yet they just can't seem to see it. Whether it's just not understanding their own brand, or simply laziness? I don't know. I don't know why no one at the company hasn't thought of it. It would fit right in with other kids programming, and if I was still a young dad I know I would love to watch something like that. It'd be a great way to sell kids on all sorts of toys and role play items too. Like Adventure Team snorkels and flippers for the pool, gloves and mittens for winter, Sleeping bags for camping, etc. It'd allow them to take activities they do with their family and imagine themselves as part of the AT. It'd be great for their imaginations, and for Hasbro's profit because most of the roleplay items would just be putting branding on already mass produced kid items anyhow.

I kinda hate the term “Reboot”. Like already mentioned the ARAH we know and love has never really been given a chance with today’s modern audiences. So it’s a constant state of reboots while never having had the original on the big screen.
My two cents....GI Joe is both the Adventure team and the military team. All under one chain of command. You start with Adventure Team on a tv series introducing a small group of Joes (Scarlet, Recondo, whoever). They go on adventure missions, environmental climate change missions whatever. They have some foils along the way (Kwinn, Bludd) and you plant seeds for Cobra and show glimpses of the military side. Once you got the Adventure team show/cartoon/movie working you can introduce the other stuff slowly. Maybe we realize who Cobra is and they are controlling the rapid climate change and that starts the military side rolling. Then the military is really fighting to save the world so politically (can’t believe have to mention this) all sides can be happy. I imagine the GI JOE ARAH logo sits atop the two teams logos. The Adventure team ‘AT’ logo and the Military Team logo (Rise fo Cobra) |

Wasn’t Rise of Cobra type of futuristic? Yeah agree though, make Cobra proper evil, bit like the Red Shadows are, they take no prisoners and want world domination!
