So the past few days I have spent some time reevaluating my collection and lately have been considering selling off my 6in Classifieds and going all in for S7 Ultimates. My thought process behind this is that while I am not thrilled about the 7in scale I think that a lot of the characters I would like to see done will end up being done in the ultimate line but probably may never be done in classifieds. My hesitation issue is #1 I do not care for the buisness practices of S7 and 2 7in figures are out of scale from everything else I own. Anyone else in a similar bind?

I would wait until you have a couple Ultimates in-hand and then decide.

Same here, especially for that price.

I had usually been a 1/6th collector, but what I like about the classified line is that you’re not limited to just that line. What I’m saying is that you can mix other lines into the Joes. The likes of Fortnite or Fwoosh ninjas just to name a few. When you go to 7inch it would be a little harder

No. Not even close.
I am buying the Ultimate Cobra Commander, and I will cherry pick others (probably Baroness and Scarlett), but Super7 will never produce enough figures, fast enough to build a reasonable collection. You will get, at best, four figures a year. Just think about that for a moment. Plus, they will probably go up $5-10 each preorder (that's been their MO so far). So in two years, you might have six to eight figures, and the next wave could be $65 each. Not even I can justify army building in that range. Keep your Classified figures. I am still betting we will see ARAH-style figures (like Breaker, HA Roadblock, and Commando Snake Eyes) appear in greater and greater numbers.

For example, Hasbro has licensed Transformers to Super7 and they are doing Ultimate non-transformeing figures in the G1 style. Hasbro has a direct competing line in the RED figures, which are also animation styling (mostly G1) and nontransforming figures. It's actually remarkable to me that both lines exist, but they do. I would stick with Classified for a while. By the time Super7 delivers the first wave of these, you will know Hasbro's intentions because they will have made probably 20-30 more figures.

Q: Which versions of which characters are you hoping to see done? After seeing Barbecue, Breaker, and Alpha Commandos Snake Eyes, I think we will see a lot more classic versions of characters in Classified. I think it's very cool that Super7 is creating the Sunbow versions in Ultimates. They are pretty expensive ($55) compared to Classified ($22.99) though. I agree with others who said you should wait until you own a few Ultimates before you decide to sell your Classifieds. Last edited by LockOn; 07-28-2021 at 12:33 AM.. |

The reason I haven't ever been able to jump on the McFarlane train is I'm just too rooted in the 6" figures to make the leap over to the 7". Only thing I have in the 7" scale is some Space Marines because the way the Warhammer 40k fiction goes they actually seem in scale with 6" figures.
The Ultimates figures look cool but it would drive me crazy to start all over again because I couldn't mix and match. Well and I'm weird that I actually like some of the Classified changes and updates. A mix of old and new that works on the later figures for me. Once the Joes got past the Fortnite phase it's seemed like a more fun line. |

I'll stick with Classified. I don't think the Super 7 JOEs are a good dollar value considering lack of articulation. However, I will be getting the Super 7 C.C.
