I think the obvious is the adventure team. I could see them as going on similar missions to indiana jones except in a modern setting-powerful mcguffins-I mean artifacts and such-that need to be discovered and retrieved before the nazis, communists, cobra or terrorists get them.
Or, they could be archeologists, geologists, scientists etc who actually work for the joe team but use their day jobs as cover to travel the world. Deep Six is surveying a site for an oil rig, but is really looking for a cobra base. OR....extreme sports team who use their sports-surfing, diving, mountain climbing, MMA-as cover to travel, and of course, their skills help them on their adventures. Snow Job competes in biatholons and it gives him a cover to visit countries and bring a rifle. |

The whole Arashikage storyline could exist outside of GI Joe as we know it, which is pretty much what the Snake Eyes movie was.
It could exist as a martial arts & espionage thriller with just ninja and some gunfight action, with Cobra existing as a larger, shadowy HYDRA or SPECTRE organization that Storm Shadow works for, in his secret quest to find the Hard Master's killer. Snake Eyes is retired from the military, living in his mountain cabin, training a few students for an elite military branch called GI Joe, and gets pulled into it. No Skystrikers, Rattlers, HISS tanks or Cobranauts. So, basically Ninja Force, but axing the goofballs like Dojo, and removing the neon. Well, except for Slice and Dice, keep the red and purple. It would look kind of cool on the big screen, like something out of a Golan Globus movie. |
