With Toys R Us' sale this past week, how much in giftcards did you get? I bought stuff the last two days holding out on Wave 3 Col.1 which I did find. I have $50 in gift cards. I only got one Joe giftcard that expires 9/30/09. I have another that expires 11/30/09 and my other three are regular giftcards with no expiration. Can't wait for The Pursuit Of Cobra figures to use these giftcards.

I'm not sure if I'm right on this or not, but I think that you should ask someone at the store, or call up customer service. By the way I ended up getting about 6 giftcards. I bought a Night Raven on the last day of the sale using 4 of them and I got another giftcard because the purchase was over $30.

I think I got $50 or $60, but I turned around and used most of it on more figures.. to get more giftcards..
I was laying awake last night trying to do the math and realized that if you kept buying figs with giftcards to get MORE giftcards you'd basically get down to $2.50 a figure. Wish I had that epiphany earlier.

I'm pretty sure the expiration date is tied to the card itself, not the balance. IE if you got a regular gift card because they were out of the GI joe ones, it has no expiration date. But if it's a GI Joe one- it has a specific expiration date embedded within the card. But you should probably check.

Lets do the math, since TRU was giving away the cards with *4* Joes..
$20 (initial investment) gets you 4 Joes + $10 giftcard. Essentially, $5 a Joe at this point. Next stop, use the giftcard to buy 2 more Joes for "free". $20 = 6 Joes. $3.33 a Joe now, not bad. But instead, you buy *4* more Joes, use your $10 giftcard, pay $10 and get ANOTHER $10 giftcard. Now we're at 8 Joes for $30, which brings us back to $3.75 a Joe, but wait! We have another $10 giftcard! So we can get 2 more Joes for free. So it's really *10* Joes for $30, or $3 each. Or.. again, get 4 more instead, pay $10, use the $10 giftcard.. 12 Joes (really could be 14) for $40. Now we're down to $3.33 and $2.85 respectively. You can keep going on like this until there are no more figures to buy! Granted, there is a 6 hour wait between purchases with the giftcards.. but come on... 16 figs = $50 20 figs = $60 24 figs = $70 28 figs = $80 32 figs = $90 36 figs = $100 (Really 38 figs if you stop here). $2.63 a figure. Of course if you want to get to the magical $2.50 you'd need to spend more money.. but hell $2.63 a figure isn't bad. Remember that BBTS "set of 37 RoC figures" for ... $349.00? You could accomplish that with around $100 during the sale. Too bad its all over :(

Yeah it was a weird glitch thing in their system, it rang the figures up at full price so $7.99x4 = $31 something, qualified for the giftcard and then gave the 2 for 10 discount.
