Be it live-action or animation, would you prefer a new G.I. Joe movie or series?

I think an animated series on the same lines as Resolute would be great. It may also attract some new fans. I don't know too many adult action military shows that are out there, and that seems to be a hole easily filled by a new Resolute series.

Not interested in another animated series, theres enough of them, we need our first live-action series, with the quality of shows these days like stuff from Amazon, Disney+, Netflix, HBO Max etc, Paramount should make a big budget live-action for their streaming service, would be awesome to see!.... would be much better than waiting an maybe getting another team movie in 4 of 5 years time if we’re lucky.

Does it really matter?
All most of us care about is getting new toys in stores. The only way stores will carry G.I. Joe is to do some form of media. I really don’t prefer one over the other.

A series would allow a longer time to get attention. A movie today is done in a month. Then Blue-Ray/Streaming release two months later (same movie). Series allows for slow burn.

I would love to see an animated series based on the Marvel comics. And each episode should be labeled with the comic book issue number. Each episode lasting 30 minutes.
I would love to see the Cobra Civil War in an animated series. Last edited by sbartek1974; 07-04-2021 at 02:49 PM.. |

But ... I'm going to add that I would like a series intended for the minds of adult fans of the Joes. Renegades had too much juvenile humor, Rise of Cobra had tech that made no sense, and both live-action flicks had the worst scripts & one-liners. Invest the cash that was dumped in Tatum and the Rock's laps into an animated series and create something that is futuristically imaginative, witty and intelligent, and not afraid to be for grown-ups. As has been stated, the Retro and Classified lines aren't budgeted for children's toys, so a streaming series wouldn't need to be either. |

I wouldn't mind a live-action show suitable for families. They can have the Joes fire lasers, and have the Cobra troops be androids, mutants, etc.
It's about time someone challenge Toei in the area of live-action, action-adventure programming for kids. |
