I'm not sure which figure was the last but I have these from my childhood: Blizzard, Hydro-Viper, Iron Grenadiers, Storm Shadow v2, Voltar, Destro v2.. all from 1988. Also have my Cobra Imp, Night Striker, and Gyrocopter (and Destro's Despoiler).

What I do know is I had all the figures I wanted from the 1985 series. And then I stopped cold turkey. For me it was simple. I changed school systems and was skipped grade 8, finding myself in high school at age 12 (turned 13 a few months later). So, I suddenly went from a pre-teen in no rush to grow up to an almost-teen realizing I had to grow up fast. So, for starters, it didn't take long to ditch my toys and boy scouts, lol. The Joes from 1986 and 1987 are familiar to me, so I would have taken peaks at them (probably in catalogues), but there was no going back. From 1988 onwards, I don't recognize anything, so I didn't keep an eye on them much longer. And it's no surprise, by that age, I wouldn't have been caught dead in the action figure aisle. I dipped my toes back in to action figures with an impulse buy of some Star Trek at age 21, then more enthusiastically with the Star Wars prequels around age 25-26 I guess. And have been back in toys off and on ever since. But I never really made it back to Joes, though I still remember them fondly and have all my original ones from the first four years. |

Last Vehicle was Darklon’s Evader.
Last figure was Stalker v5 with the “baseball card” file card.

I never stopped buying. Started when I was 3, haven't been able to shake the habit in 37 years.

As an aside, I just noticed that the title of the thread doesn't really specify Joes- my actual last figures were likely from Star Wars POTF2 or ToyBiz X-Men- I jumped into those hard, and justified them to myself as being "adult collectibles", because I briefly kept them carded... until I one day sat in the middle of the floor and opened them all up. Hundreds of figures opened up and geared up in one go. It was freakin' glorious. My folks were not happy with the size of that week's dump run.

My last joe I bought when I was young was '88 v2 Storm Shadow. Loved that figure and was able to keep him until the early 2000s when I sold him and The Fridge to get money for a sack of weed(but that's a different story). However, in 1991, when I was a junior in high school, my aunt and cousins came in from Virginia to visit, and they were still young and deep into toys. So we went to the store where I saw v4 Cobra Commander and thought he was great, so I bought him(lost him somewhere in the 90s). Of course when POTF Star Wars came out in '95, and I had a decent paying factory job, I started collecting them along with Spawn and Marvel(wish I still had that 12 inch Moon Knight, that was sweet). Been collecting and selling ever since.
